    I just helped my friend's parents with a similar project and for sure you need preparation of all tools, materials must be pre-order as any lag may turn into wasted time waiting. A strict schedule is a must but most importantly, stick to one plan. These are heavy materials so extra hands are helpful too. Well done on amazing build. It actually turned out great

    Great video! Love the update videos, the videos where it's "start to finish" are satisfying in one way but getting to see the gradual work is satisfying as well - the entire time my heart went out to Rob and John's backs 😂but they did SUCH a good job! They should be so chuffed with themselves! ♥

    Team work makes the dream work, when you finish you can be extremely proud of yourself knowing that y’all did all of the work yourself. And when family and friends come over to visit you can totally take all of the credit literally. I knew you were going to get it done and look back and smile.🙏🏾🥰💖💯💫

    Ohh. A compactor might have been a good idea. With a hardcore base and lay on concrete!! Always start to lay in line with the house. I learned all this the hard way !!
    But a great first attempt. Looks fab. You’ll get you a few years out of it. But next time you’ll be an expert!! 👏🏼 👏🏼 👏🏼

    Seeing how difficult jobs like these can make shows why landscapers/brick layers etc charge as much as they do! We were considering a similar project in our garden with the hope to extend what is currently a paved path into a proper patio area. We had someone out and were quoted £1200 for 12 large slabs to be put in and of course all of the work that comes along with the job. Way too expensive for right now but probably a fair price with everything considered. Your hard work will all be worth it soon enough! It’s looking so good already :)

    • @ShadeShannon
      @ShadeShannon  Год назад +1

      Most definitely! I will never judge a quote I get in the future and totally support their work. The labour is strenuous and really dangerous too!

    Moving slabs with a pair of crocs on is a disater waiting to happen 😩. I bought a fire pit last year and had it on once, it took me 6 hair washes to get the smell out of my hair, never again, great video.

    Great work. Really want to do something similar in our garden but I just know I’ll be crippled! Although it is making me nervous seeing you and your partner using heavy machinery and lifting slabs in Crocs and Birkenstock sandals! 😬
    Side note, what’s the sage green grey colour behind your sofa? It’s really nice 👌🏼

    • @ShadeShannon
      @ShadeShannon  Год назад

      That was silly of us really! Will invest in boots for such projects.
      Colour is mountain hideaway by Valspar. It’s actually a gorgeous teddy brown colour in person maybe with a hint of sage 🥰

      @sharonmc5192 Год назад

      @@ShadeShannon Thanks Shade. I've heard good things about Valspar paints, esp the colour matching they can do. FYI it wasn't a dig at all your hard work on the patio (re shoes) but I'd hate to see you getting crushed toes! You can get some reasonably priced safety shoes these days in Screwfix and the like. Hope you're getting on well with the patio! We need to do something similar and it's really daunting!

    I really appreciate the honest ‘warts and all’ video showing the reality of the project. What you are doing is really hard graft and you should be so proud of what you’ve achieved so far. can’t wait to see the final result!
