i'm a ballroom dancer, and this is one of the hardest dances to do. they usually teach this dance after you've mastered several of the other dances. its not a spanish dance, but it has to do with bullfighting, where the male represents the matador and the woman represents the cape or the bull. as far as being cold, they are just trying to do the dance while maintaing their technique and posture and everything else that they get rated on during compeitions.

@MegaSpecialized To renounce your complaint: the way that the music is written is that way. Espana Cani is the most common song, but they play PLENTY of other music at comps. As a latin competitor myself, I've danced to many other songs, but they are all timed out the same with the same driving beat.
@munstertwinjwatzsin the problem is, that all choreos for paso doble were made for the timings in this song, so that the hoster of the competiotion don't really have a chance to change the song. otherwise if they would, many couples whoud boycott the competition
because as soon as you hit gold level it becomes more of a routine then a dance were the guy choozes all the steps. and in the paso it stops at certain points. its has to be the same song so the dancers are ready for the pose to look good.
but i believe there were a lot has changed in maria and eugene specially the clarity of their movements....i hope i'll see the old eugene and maria with clear movements and the couple who never look stressful...

The difficulty of dancing together is one of the points. Who dances ballroom alone?! Anyways, some dance competitions do allow for solo showcase. However, I do understand your point about audience awareness, but ballroom dance is notoriously unaware of this!
I'm not sure lookign at their routines (well sometimes its not exactly the routines, the stokkebroes have the simplest and boring routines but have marvelous execution and technique getting them higher in rankings) ... hmmm maybe its the construction of their routines being maybe a little trick oriented... I don't see anything wrong with her technique

We are playing the spanish gipsy dance in the orcestra in my school. I 'm studing at the National Music School in Bulgaria
