    In this tutorial we will be looking at the Divi presets feature and how to get started using Divi presets to build sites more efficiently. One of the most confusing aspects of presets when you first start to use them is how the "default" setting works and I will be covering this in detail.
    Divi is the leading page-builder for WordPress, bringing a powerful drag-and-drop page building experience to the world's leading content management system which powers nearly 40% of ALL websites.

    I'm only 4 minutes into this video and it has already blown my mind with the detailed understanding of how presets actually work! Well done!!!! I'm so grateful for this incredibly useful and easy-to-follow video training.

      Thank you for your kind words. I am really pleased it has helped you - I found presets and especially 'defaults' very difficult to start with!

    Great explanation. I already 20% understood what was going on, but skipping along a few minutes into your video, it only took me a few minutes of watching to get the gist of what you were saying and now I have gone from being confused to understanding the power of the presets. Thank you so much! I'm so glad you were indeed clear and I didn't waste loads of time getting confused. For context, I did already have a vague understanding of cascading styles back from when I used Adobe Indesign a lot, but still, your video really helped clarify what was going on.

      Thank you. A really powerful feature of Divi but one that is poorly understood by many users - not least because it is not super-intuitive. Not a bad thing as this lets me make tutorials! 😀

    I just found this tutorial and DANG I wish I had seen it a month ago! Just redesigned a whole site for a client and using pre-sets for buttons and some other modules would have saved me SO MUCH TIME! Using library elements is convenient but this will make things go even faster. Thank you so much for your clear explanations and examples.

      @@divicoaching One thing I'm still researching (being a newbie) is setting a size of images. Some images I have are large and others small. You may have already done a video on this. Also on using a CSS script and placing on my supporter's page site. Just looking to make the content look uniform. Also working on a photo slider and wanting to set images uniform.

      Great! I personally am working on setting up a well thought out naming strategy for presets now. I didn't start with a concept and that showed quickly. Also the question came up, how I can transfer my "new preset framework" to a different site. Is portability an option?

    • @divicoaching
      @divicoaching  2 года назад +1

      When you import/export library items there is an option to import presets. The way the naming works when importing is a bit odd so have a practice!

      Thank you Cindy. Really glad you found this helpful. This was a bit of a tricky one as the way the 'presets' have been implemented is not quite as intuitive as it could have been and there is plenty of scope for confusion, especially with 'defaults'. Thank you again. Paul (Divi Coaching)

  • @npeters1474

    So, I imagine you have a shitload of presets, for all sorts of elements? Or is there a way to implement one time without selecting the presets every single time with every new element you put in?

    • @divicoaching
      @divicoaching  2 года назад

      You do need a preset for each type of element (but most designs only use 5-6 so not too arduous). You can then set the preset as the default for that type of element (see in the vid) and each instance of that element you add will have the preset applied already by default. Hope that is what you meant?
