Donald Trump has been rushed off the stage after gunshots were heard as he addressed a crowd at a rally in Pennsylvania.
Secret Service agents dashed up to the former president and quickly removed him from the stage in Butler.
Mr Trump could be seen ducking for cover behind the lectern.
The former president was then driven quickly from the scene in an armoured vehicle.

Exactly. What does that have to do with guarding the perimeter around it? Had there been people outside of the building, he never would have even gotten a chance to get up onto the roof to begin with! That roof had a 4-12 pitch which means you can Walk on it no problem and from them to say it was sloped and a safety issue is a bunch of horseshit

Years ago Bush was coming to my town and I worked for the city as a welder. SS came to me and had me weld all the manhole covers down and they watched everything I did ! I worked with them the day he got there and drove them under ground to protect the sewer under where Bush would be. You needed a 4x4 to get there and I spent the day with them

I'm not a security expert, but isn't the point of having someone on the roof is to deter people. Also, this leads me to another question... how would TMC know that no one was guarding that roof. Was this a snap decision, & he happened to have a ladder and pew in the car or how long had he been planning this attack? Surely, if you try to sneak attack a former president, you plan for that in advance and this leads back to my first question.
He didn't have any problems getting up there...and he didn't even have training like the secret service 🤷🤷

I agree. Secret Service should bring enough staff to be fully in charge. When you have multiple groups responsible, there is the risk one group says I thought you were covering this and other group saying no that was what you are responsible for. The fact SS is depending on local PD to be just as vigilant as SS would be is absurd. If SS is low staffed I bet there are plenty of retired military vigilant people that could be assigned as backup for events.

I HAVE seen officers and Secret Service on much dangerous places. I have seen them hiding in trees watching and waiting incase of anything horrific happened. 100 times more dangerous than that roof. What a BS lie that they couldn't get on the roof.

In the 90s, the president came to San Francisco and the motorcade was getting off the 280 freeway and we were on the roof of a four-story building. Helicopters flew over us and said get him inside there had Arial coverage.

Then why not post up around the outside of the said buolding as it was a security risk. Make it make sense
with days to prepare, have they not ever heard of safety harnesses? My son has worked construction for years and they even harness doing steep roofs to lay steel or shingles.
