That final was completely insane! Holy crap! I was on the edge of my seat for the whole thing.
Sick tournament and Wirtuals casting really hyped me up, especially at the final rounds
Insane Event, insane casting
The tournament was insane, but honestly that was some spectacular commentary by Wirtual. His levels of excitement made me almost jump up sometimes.
Damn, Zerator throws an infinitely better tournament than Nadeo.
And he did it every year since 2016
@@Eyohna it's a shame he was so conservative with streaming rights, I think it could've been a lot bigger if he had multiple languages broadcasting it from the beginning.
@@Breqs98 Kinda agree, but at the same time Zerator always preferred growing his events slowly but in a controlled manner, rather than rushing to glory and falling off right after. Lots of people were disappointed when he announced the end of TM cups, but he and his team worked on a new format to make a healthy esports competition while keeping the spirit of previous editions. He doesn't want his tournaments to be international hits, but rather a great show and a challenge for the players.
Another explanation is that the TM cups were his first actual events and they were maybe not comfortable with how to proceed regarding streaming rights a few years ago.
And puts it behind a paywall. And doesn't let anyone stream it. What a guy.

First TM tournament I've ever watched, and I'm truly impressed, maybe a little awestruck. Wirtual's commentary was almost as good as his driving skills, and the level of competition was incredible. The last 30 mins were VERY intense. Great job from everyone involved!
that snipe by Arthaniir in the penultimate round was insane, down in last with no chance of winning the tournament, still clutches an insane round to deny 6 finalists for content

What an incredible final! And impressive performances from all, especially Carl, Gwen and Affi! Nice to see Carl at his peak performance again! Gwen is really impressive, especially on that pizza map!
I don't know what other people thought of it, but in my opinion that was a better event that Nadeo's ones.
It was the best TM tournament I've ever seen, but as a KC fan, seeing Bren miss the victory like that was so heartbreaking lmao
Props to the underdogs too, Glast was insane, especially with the last map being his best he could've easily been the winner too

Gwen might not be the most consistent player in TM, but he is absolutely insane, such an incredible win
May not be the most consistent, but he is the fastest!
the finalist format favors him a lot, he's all in or all out every map, which balances out for gaining points and getting to finalist, but when he is in finalist he's the fastest and most likely to win most maps
I've always thought the same but the other day I sort of reframed it in my head. He's not the most consistent at driving at the pace he drives, but he's also basically the only one capable of being as consistent as he is at that pace. He's flat out the fastest when he's driving well and borderline untouchable, he crashes not infrequently, but if anyone else would try to drive Gwen's pace as he does they would not be able to touch his consistency at that pace. I remember I think it was Pac talking about one of the battles Solary had vs G1 and Carl and him were saying that if Gwen doesn't crash they basically can't win, because his pace is just too quick.
So it's not simply that he isn't consistent but he's incredibly fast, it's that although he isn't as consistent because he has such incredible pace, if you tried to take another player and require Gwen's pace, they would crash so much more frequently than Gwen where it's just not sustainable.
I was getting so pissed seeing all of those +1s before PizzaMap. Truly the best final I've ever seen.

Ever after Wirtual told the story about Gwen starting to play when he was 4 years old I was rooting for him and I AM SO HAPPY HE WON!!!!
SAME!! Until then I didn't know who I was putting my money on, possibly Granady, but hearing that Gwen has been playing for 15 years and is probably the youngest person there, I HAD to put it on him. Especially when he did that pipe skip and got the WR. AND the back to back WRs on that other map too (I forget the names 😂).
So fucking hyped that he came out on top!!

I legit found myself cheering for Gwen when he was behind, and then the pizza map came and I was so hyped, and it was so close but in the end it was so fun that he actually clutched it out, that was an insane ending and somehow I got invested in a player through a single semifinals + finals video haha

I'm not surprised after seeing a bunch of Wirtual content, but this was such a stellar job of commentary and analysis. To be so smooth, engaging, and genuinely excited while being a one man show... in a non-native language? The Trackmania community is lucky to have him.

That first semi final was so tense, first the battle for first qualifier between Bren and Granady and afterwards 4 finalists with mime extending it to the last map.

Glast drove so well in finals, just couldn't pull a dub in the end. First track mania tournament iv watched, the format of you is INCREDIBLE for a finals if everyone is driving well, 6 people having a shot at tens of thousands of dollars is movie stuff
Extraordinary casting by Wirtual!! Carrying the entire series solo is a feat in and of itself, too. Without a doubt, a bona fide esports caster after this performance.

I was rooting for Gwen after we got the 4 year-old backstory, the risky finish he gave first map, and the fear that he struck into Carl Jr.
The idea of a up-in-coming player, with a long, intimate relationship with the sport, was cast into my mind. Whether that's true or not, I have no clue, but that's the idea I got.
I believed in the impossible and it was so hype when he won.
I can't fucking believe he came back from a 4 finalist situation to win.
We could've had a Carl Jr. victory a map earlier but Bren managed to clutch up the 1 time that Gwen didn't win that map to snipe the 1st place from him.
I was absolutely on the edge of my fucking seat when the map changed. Logically, it would make no sense for Gwen to win if its not on the map where he was known to consistently come first, but I believed, and I rooted, and it happened, and I'm psych'd.
Thank you for roping me in and keeping me engaged for 2 hours WIrtual. You are an excellent caster.
I didn't think I would feel so many emotions on trackmania tournment, I gasped many times, and I who was cheering for Gwen after seeing how he risked everytime was screaming by its end, man Zerator was a genius on the way he did the format, it allows lot of comebacks

Went in all in for granady, expected the goat to redeem his food poisoning qualies, and had high hopes for dark horse, Mime.
Couldnt have possibly been more hype for that result. Easily the best tourney Ive seen considering all the stories and heart put into it by ZeratoR and the competitors.
There will certainly be some documentaries about the winner in the future.

Just a visual bug, it says +10 points but if you watch the point totals only the winner actually cashed in 10 and second took 8 like they should have
