    Vacuum forming. I used to go this place which closed down years ago to go vacuum forming some molds for me 30 years ago. When I was little girl back in 60's the Mattel toy company had miniature vacuum forming toy for christmas and I fall in love with it. It was fun learning experiment.

    Don't despair!
    I think hand-held sanders mounted upside down are burning out because of the 'inflexibility' of direct contact with hard steel bolts and the wooden board.
    You should have used 'flexible' fixings, which would have allowed the sander to move and flex as was its intended design - hence the need for a cushioning sanding pad!
    I would suggest anyone considering this project should only mount the sander with bolts cushioned with some kind of rubber sleeve or washers against any hard surface that it comes into contact with. This should provide some much needed flexibility, and will prolong the life of the sander... certainly it will help prevent shaking themselves to death. Same with washing machines too, they also have rubber sleeves on their bolts don't they?
    The alternative to mounting it upside down, is to place a board across the top of your filled mould, and just hold the sander on the top moving it around as you would when you normally sand something.
    Good luck.

      You are essentially proposing to isolate the sander from the board (As I understand) The whole goal of a vibratory table is to transfer as much of the vibration to the table.

    I used a dewalt sander and it broke in about 5 minutes. the inside bracing was made of plastic and being hung upside down which it is most likely not designed for. Great concept and worked great for the 5 minutes but the way they make tools today.
    I am now looking to getting an actual vibrating motor.

    Yup just built this is in 15 minutes and burned out that cheap Ozito sander in less than 2 minutes. Now I neither have a sander nor a vibrating table. :D

      @OffGridInvestor 5 лет назад +1

      That's coz you got an ozito. And chances are the thing was touching the table underneath. Has to be free to vibrate. But you show me any ozito that lasts more than 2 weeks with its INTENDED use.

    going to fit a power adjuster to regulate the power to give me more control on the rate of vibration. works well though and pleased with the results especially as its just a sander .

      had a slight problem with the sander and its bracket but held on with some strong bands. I may go for a motor but wanted to try the concept of the table for my moulds, think your solution is fantastic but cannot see the motor in the UK ..tanks for posting its sorted my pin hole problem in my plaster castings ......

    Is it economical??? New grinding machine, spoiled almost new wheel??? Watch the Russian video on this topic - two rusty profile pipes, old springs from the valves of the car and the electric motor from the old washing machine, costs - 0, and the vibrating table is ready.

      Many aren't but the trigger can be held with a zip tie instead of just going to trigger lock in like this was.
