  • In this video we explore the intricate world of the iris by delving into its detailed anatomy. Serving as the foremost segment of the uvea, the iris resembles a thin, circular disc, akin to the diaphragm of a camera. Positioned anteriorly, it plays a crucial role in regulating the amount of light that enters the eye through its central aperture - the pupil. The iris has two surfaces and 4 layers . the layer froms anterior to posterior are namely the anterior limiting layer, the iris stroma, the anterior epithelium and the posterior pigmented epithelium
With a keen focus on the macroscopic anatomy, topography, and layered intricacies, this video provides an in-depth exploration of the iris, bringing to light its crucial role in the visual process.
We will also discuss about the radial streaks, contraction furrows and crypts of iris
At each step of learning iris anatomy we have linked important clinical nuggets for all of you to get a better understanding of the application of the anatomy.
