- My good friend Tifa made me play FF9 a few months ago so I decided to give it a go.
22 hours into the game right now and wow, last time I fell in love with an RPG in such a drastic way was probably when I played Dragon Quest 4 back in 2014.
I love the graphics, the music, the characters, the story and the world. By far my favorite final fantasy game from the ones I've tried so far.
Decided to keep the atmosphere of the original intact but I might try different versions in the future, tempted to use sounds from other games and 8-bit.

This will always be THE Final Fantasy theme for me. I've never played the series, but I have fond memories of chilling in my cousin's basement while he played and always getting pumped when an encounter started and this epic piece started playing.

The entire thing was absolutely WONDERFUL to listen to, and it's probably my favorite arrangement of the FF9 battle theme right now!
But I NEED to know, what was your FF1 party named? I can tell you went with the bastion of setups with Spike-Headed Sword Dude, Lettuce-Wrapped Burglar, and Polarity-Opposed Mages, but it's very blurry and I can just barely tell you're bonking at some goblino bois

I'm with you on that one bro, though I have yet to play FF9. I know it's super highly rated, I just need to give it my time when I can.
Btw, if you ever plan on replaying DQ4, consider the mobile version. The DS version is missing party chat, which wasn't completed until the mobile version. Kinda sucks, but at least a version exists with party chat at all. Either way, it really helps breathe more life in the characters, and I'm gonna try it soon too lol
