Can you save zinnia seeds to plant next year?
Deadheading keeps the zinnia plants blooming all season. However, if you want to harvest zinnia seeds, you have to let the old flowers fade, turn brown and dry out on the plant so they can produce those precious seeds you will be planting next year
How long do zinnia seeds need to dry before planting?
Make sure to keep varieties separated and labeled unless you don't mind a mix full of surprises! Place the harvested seed heads on a screen so that they dry thoroughly on all sides. This may take up to a week, depending on the seed head and moisture level.

Last year I picked up a packet of cactus zinnia at dollar tree because they were different from zinnias I’ve grown over the years. They are one of my favorites also I call them mopheads😊 This year Forecast is the new addition for the garden. There were some iridescent blooms in a mixed packet and I saw Burpee had Forecast which is identical to what grew from the mixed seed really looking forward to seeing them in the garden bed. Your show and tell on seed id will be helpful for new seed collectors I’ve always appreciated your videos because they are short and to the point. Happy 👨🌾🌺

Nice to see you still make a new zinnia video every year. 💞 'i have to start the majority of seeds indoors. Lots of watering and light arranging work to keep up with compared to a greenhouse. No choice though. Dicamba. overspray from neighboring gardens are awful on tomato and pepper plants. but I still try to grow what I can.🥀💮
