Whatever you wanna classify them as, I will say this:These guys don't compromise at all! They're the truest to whatever genre you want to classify them in, whether it's Punk, Horror Punk, Goth Metal, or whatever! So many famous bands compromised a long time ago. Metallica comes to mind, as an example. But not the Misfits! They stayed true to their roots, and they deserve to be remembered long after bands that compromise are long gone and forgotten about!
