- I recently renovated this beautiful 1970's 5 bedroom bungalow, into a modern country style instant home hotel in Kenya. The process of re-imagining the space, digging through the architect's intentions and finding new perspectives, is where I poured my creativity & passion during the pandemic and though it has not been an easy journey, it has truly been rewarding.

When Africans use, in a seemingly celebratory tone, the phrase "rich in colonial history" what exactly tends to be going on in their mind? 👀 That bit aside, a not too shabby tour.
She is brainwashed, ignorant AF. Colonial history as "rich"?..could barely stomach more than 2 minutes of this s**t..
This is what is going on in this African’s mind . I belive history of any kind should be valued. Especially one that has had such a potent effect on our social culture & economics as a country. History reveals the footsteps of those who came before us & therein are many lessons that prepare us for the future.

You need to spend a little time with people of colonial extraction and that ilk and you'll comprehend the "richness" of that history. On the other hand, perhaps your target market is colonial descendants and ignorant/co-opted natives, they might share this perspective..

Indeed, Riara Ridge, Redhill & Tigoni have serene, calming landscapes. Beautiful tea farms. I pray that the serene farmlands are not replaced by developers stone city's as happened in Ruaka.
