Now that's a hard question! To be honest, there's not an awful lot between them. The Spectral is more descent focussed with a bit more travel at both ends an a slightly more aggressive geometry. However, the Jeffsy is better on the pedals. Owning a Spectral, I'm not rushing out to buy a Jeffsy, but the Jeffsy certainly impressed.
Really not buying the “carbon wheels can crack, alloy bends” argument. Both scenarios can end your ride. At this price point, I expect YT to have carbon wheels and a Reverb AXS dropper on this top of the line build.
No problem at all, thanks for watching! You're right, both can end a ride but alloy is more likely to hold a seal after incurring damage, whereas if a carbon rim cracked, it likely wouldn't. Of course this is totally down to the billions of variables that occur during an impact. This bike is £6k, so the expectation of carbon rims poses a fair argument, Canyon's Spectral 29 CFR gets a very similar build, but with carbon rims. An AXS dropper however, is asking a bit much. Very few, if any bikes come with one at this price. Thanks for your comment!
@@offroadcc I have the Izzo Launch Edition that has carbon wheels and the AXS dropper and I think the price for that bike was around the same as this Jeffsy Core 5. Hard to compare historical prices to now but that’s where the expectation comes from. My guess is that YT are saving a full wireless/carbon kit for uncaged models.
@@matthewserna7475 the Jeffsy Core 5 is $6,500z Take a look at the YT Capra Uncaged 12-carbon wheels and AXS dropper for $6,500. So… you don’t even have to look to another manufacturer to find better specs at the same price
omg 14:08 i almost died laughing, you are a legend haha :D
Good Review. What are your thoughts if you compare it to the spectral?

what size did you test and how tall are you? Asking as do to the change in reach etc I hear people are dropping sizes compared to the previous jeffsy
Hi, I tested a large and I'm 5ft 10. I definitely wouldn't size down, I think the longer reach is an excellent update. Plus, it's only a 5mm change.
does it run 160mm fork and coil shock ?
It'll work with a 160mm fork but it will alter the geometry a little. It'll likely run a coil shock too, although it probably won't pedal as well.

What $6000 bike comes with an axs dropper? This build is 8-10k with a pivot or yeti sticker slapped on it
