Actually, it's Baroque era, not Classical Era. Of course, when you say 'classical', I know you're referring to the slang term for Western Art Music as a whole. lol.
John Dykes It is generally accepted as referencing this though. I use it as an umbrella term when speaking to someone without a background in music. I still find it hard to say without immediately qualifying it though!
Rinzler and Tron are two different characters Rinzler is cold and brutal and has no emotion until he CLU said “Finish the game” Tron was focused and certainly has more emotion than Rinzler. Tron wanted to protect and serve as a beacon Rinzler wants to destroy everything Tron stood for and only serve CLU
Years ago I worked an event for Chanel in NYC and I was placed in a dark room with nothing but a projection of the Louvre pyramid in Paris and a part of this song playing in a loop. An EXTREMELY beautiful woman walked in and sat down on the sole bench and it was just me and her in that room staring at the image and we were deeply moved. One of those 'moments' you don't forget in life.
@notamem3lord d that's funny. I went and watched a live version with an orchestra, and the first few measures are played on cellos, and then the second time the violas come in with them. I think you are right though and the solo about 3:00 is a cello.
I remember when I saw Tron: Legacy for the first time. The scene, where my childhood hero was practically being murdered, almost made me cry in the cinema. #TronLives
I remember watching Tron fighting off Clu's henchmen, all the time just cheering him on with a smile on my face. Then Clu went and 'killed' him and my eyes widened with shock. And I think I cried a little. Then, near the end, I heard it. "I...fight for the Users!" And I cheered. Then Clu up and stole his spare flight baton. They've got to bring him back in for Tron 3. I know, big 'duh' right there, but I don't want Tron to just sink into the sea and that's that. >w< I fight for the Users!
I remember watching this movie in the theater as a kid. The epic music started and i was exciting and scared. Seeing tron taking down the black guards and cheering him on but then I remembered Clu and thought. "Tron will take you down too". That's when I started to realize the music was both epic and sad but thought. "He's winning what's with the music?" Then he was thrown to the ground by clu and "killed" by him. I was crying after that. Now in 2022 I rewatched the movie and it's still amazing! What a masterpiece of a film and godly score!
SamFlynn 777 So glad to see another Tron fan all these years! Tron Legacy was in my opinion a fantastic movie and is super underrated! Special effects, characters, SOUNDTRACK, and story were all well executed! I only hope for Tron 3 while it was in the making but was ultimately cancelled for the lack of money they made and so was Tron Uprising. Sad to see the franchise be dead for this long :(
SamFlynn 777 Btw this is my fav track from the whole soundtrack! I really love Flynn's backstory and how Tron fought for him but failed. It was very emotional and this piece showed just that.
Daft Punk doesn't get enough credit for they're talents imo....this is simply beautiful, this has been placed right next to Adagio For Strings for best ever
3:32 will always be my favorite part. The music really did make it feel epic and emotional not to mention extremely memorable. This song is beautiful. Tron fought his best. Sadly was almost killed and CLU took over...man Flynn must be depressed after that
I like how many emotions this song gives out, yet at the same time it is telling an epic story. It goes back to trons routs to show what he was like in the original movie and then it goes to the rinzler transformation where it is sad, but has a darker undertone, and then rinzler is complete and silence...and then it picks back up with trons struggle against what he has become. it builds more and more tension and tron starts to win, but realizes to win against himself he has to make a sacrifice

This is pure ECSTASY !!! The absolute form of music.... To me this song is like the timeline of a person's entire life from the way the song starts building up at the birth, then at 2:02 the sudden quiet of traversing into adulthood, then the fast paced music emanating an adult trying passionately to achieve something in life and then the lone violin at 3:08 resembling an old wise man all alone in the world contemplating his life. Slowly fading away into nothingness ...
Daft Punk A musical frontier I tried to imagine the perfect techno orchestral score What did it look like? Lightcycles, guys with great talent, a techno score I kept dreaming of a score i would never hear Then one day I saw TRON Legacy

+James Kaleb Wolfe Tron was created on the old Encom system while Clu was created as a copy of Flynn, in a sense a copy of a human template that could think and operate outside of the normal computer processing environment. Because of his human influence he was easily corrupted by his desire to create a perfect system as well as seize power from Flynn. Tron was integrated into the new system therefore his program would have to run within the normal confines of the system where Clu did not. Which is why Clu could so easily defeat him.
Tron the Legend of the Grid sinks in the sea of Simulation. Memories of both justice and injustice. The corruption disappears when his memories return. He's never truly gone, just forgotten.

The opening to this track reminds me so vividly of the _Serenity_ theme intermingled with Beethoven and Barber. The latter half of this track sounds like it could have been an inspiration for the _Star Trek_ (2009) theme.
Great score. A good movie without a good score will always b just a good movie. The score takes the movie to the next level. Example picture star wars without John Williams score. .. good movie but not quite great.... Great song.. love it
I’ve listened to this song for years now and it still brings tears to my eyes. It’s such a beautiful song and story and I wish it was more well known as it is a true masterpiece.
When it first appeared, it was a sad somber tone for how Tron was betrayed and abandoned in the movie (and in Uprising)... nowadays when I hear it I can't help applying that feeling to how Disney betrayed and abandoned the Tron franchise. At 2:30 onward Disney crushed fans hopes and dreams of Tron 3 and further Uprising episodes, something which fans have still never recovered from. Poor Tron... you deserved so much better.

There is something.... so close to Mozart's Requiem in D minor. Lovely.
It's a straight ripoff of Lacrimosa.
It's a reference. This is an elegy for Tron; it incorporates themes of death and reflection from Lacrimosa.
If it's a rip off it's more of the beginning of the first movement, Introitus: Requiem aeternam and also part of Lux aeterna...
It also carries a very strong vibe of Clubbed to Death referencing the matrix.

2:07 Is amazing, tron's music fades out with an ominous snare and the opening notes of CLU's theme start to play, it's then joined by Tron's theme.
Never understood how CLU could kick Tron's ass so quickly?
CLU was a clone of Kevin. Kevin basically built TRON, which means he knew all his weak points. So did CLU.
averythesuperhero Alan Bradley created Tron, not Flynn. It certainly should have been a more evenly matched fight.
