Fixed my "Screaming" Motor today and swapped it out for a new one. Thanks for your video, it helped greatly! Only advice I'd give for people attempting this: you're going to have to get into some weird positions to put the screws back in!
Thnaks for the best tutorial on youtube! After a few mechanics declined to deal with my car here in Serbia, I had to take matters in my own hands. Once again, thank you.
Thank you so much from Leeds. I waited 3 weeks every saturday a time wasting mechanic was supposed to fix my heating problem. He couldnt diagnose it in the first place and after leaving it in pieces stripped down promised to come back. But as it got colder steamier and more dangerous then a frozen windscreen inside to drive I decided to have a go myself. I completed the task and it was easy. You might need a stubby screwdriver or small bosch power drive . Brilliant
Huge thank you sir ! My old motor wailed like a banshee !! Got a new one from Amazon , and after watching this I fitted it in 40 mins, screws awkward to refit but, all going good now , thank you so much !😀😀
Thank you - just as you showed in your video. Yes a short / stubby cross head screw driver needed for the rear screw. No real need to disconnect battery.
short telling and all explained !!! Thanks !! I was able to do it too. From my perspective, absolutely not easy due to being upside down on the seat ;-)
Wow -- my slower speeds on my fan haven't worked for years, only high speed. Last night I smelled a burning electrical smell and the fan isn't working anymore. I didn't realize it was so simple and easy to fix - thank you!
your problem is the resistor. 1 single screw to the right of the heater fan unit.. take it off then simply put a pice of wire across it and screw it back on. will last for years. the resistor in these are far too weak... a bit of wire across will get you back to having full control... its not the fan motor problem.
@@bomberi1109 fault with the new resistor maybe ? Or possible short circuit in or on the fan switch/ wiring ? Does the fan on fan motor turn freely when installed back in car ? Hope this helps, best wishes👍
thanks Mark.. didn't know if I could do it myself.. after this video I'm pretty sure I can & I don't need to pay 200€ (162£), just around 50€ for a new motor
The motor would only run for a minute, then stop. Disconnected the leads, hooked the fan directly to the battery, eliminating all the controls. Still shut down after a minute. New motor works like a champ. The only hard part was the electrical connection. The release would not push in.
Thanks my fans not working at all. I've changed a fuse as that had blown but still nothing. Going to check this and see if its jammed as mine is a Ford focus 54 plate thank you from England Hull
Help Pls , The AC & Blower Motor is not working ? The Fuses are OK the Resitor + Blower Motor had been replaced, unfortunately still not working, any ideas 💡 Thanks 👍 focus MK1/ 1998 Model for UK
my heater fan work on position 2 in 3D in my air conditioner is on in 1 and 2 when I turn it 2 3 and 4 light goes off and the air conditioning doesn't work this is on a 2003 Focus
outside on the roof at the back, but if you washed the car its probably gone now. so need to wait till its dirty to find it............. or use a bit of brain and listen to it and then think ahh left hand side footwell, just like 99.9% of cars
Do not bother taking off the battery terminal. thats is pointless and only realy for complete arseholes... with the fan switch in the off p[position there is NO current going to the motor, and once you pull the connector its dead anyway... so dont fart about with the battery, just do the job, its Phillips screwdriver is all you need, short stubby one is ideal.
Nice! I was going to say. Disconnect the battery even though you're going to unplug it anyway?? Seems a bit much, now I feel a lot more confident at the job!

Replace ballast resistor next to fan motor, very cheap to replace, try Amazon/eBay 👍😀
@@paulmasters7621 i changed the resistor to a new one, it keeps now blowing fuses when i try to put the blower on, any ideas?

My fans make quite a bit of noise when only set to setting 2. Can I solve this by cleaning this blower motor or do I need a new one?
Fantastic ! thank you
Thank you kindly.
Thank You, our problem turned out to be the Switch instead.
Great job man!
Great job !!!
Mine is squeaking away, if I put a bit of wd40 on, do you think that would stop the squeak?
Thanky you. Very good 👍
Hi
I have a Ford Fusion zetec 09 model
And my heater resistor works only on 3 can you tell me where is the resistor located please
Replace ballast resistor next to blower motor, cheap to buy on Amazon/ eBay , hope this helps 👍
What’s year is the focus you just took the blower out on??
thank you so much
The recirculation mode on my Focus is not working. Any ideia of what could this be?
This won't work for the 2017-2018 Ford Focus SE. Blowerr motor in different location. Wish the blower motor same location as this.
MK1's rule!
I have a question. I replace the blower and resistor but still does not turn on. What should be the problem
runnerjo check fuses or change switch
Thanks man
