I just wanted to thank Narrative Declaration for the adventure you've shared with us through the years. The "If The Emperor Had a Text-To-Speach" device series was how I discovered and fell in love with the Warhammer universe, your TTRPG series have been a genuine joy to watch and an inspiration to try and run my own campaign. I am so glad to see that despite the desicions of some companies and their opinions on fan made content, you have kept your creative passions alive, and I'm eager to see what you have to share with us next on Bruva Alfabusa channel. Wishing you guys the best, game on!
Uh,hey,I'm looking for a D&D series who's name I can't remember. It had the same "character ortrait changes to signify talking" thing as RotGrind. The DM was presented,in the bottom-right,as a greed jagged mouth in a cloak (think of the MAUSERs from TMNT),which was slightly greyed out when he was silent. Would any stranger on this comment section know what I'm talking about?Thank you in advance!
Boy that health bar reveal...I sympathized totally with Earndil That was such a beautiful song, I haven't cried like that during a stream since the death of Lorn
Zoran: see buddy it’s your favorite meal Black bear: what? What’s going on Zoran: be distracting and delicious!! Bear: what you want me to dress in drag and do the hula?
Holy crap. This episode was an emotional ride. That last quarter of the episode had me crying. Damn good show all. Thank you for the ride and what a way to kick off the new year 😭🥲
Well "I" wasnt expecting to struggle not to cry in the middle of an aisle, while working tonight. Fuckayou, I didnt want to feel face pain today! Jokes aside, it feels like it's been ages since I've seen a rotgrind episode, and boy HOWDY, it was GREAT! Hope yall are doing well!
I already watched it early on Patreon, but just gotta drop a comment to say that it's great to have you back! Even if the episode was emotionally devastating... 😭
Very well done with the dragon arc... a sad but satisfying and appropriate ending. I was caught a bit off guard by the ending, though, as I was not expecting to see this happen twice in my lifetime. This is chillingly similar to a scene from the end of the first episode of the old PSO2 (Phantasy Star Online 2), that ended in literally the same way... it's a fairly obscure game in the modern day, and it also involved a friend trying to release a dragon from a dark corruption. The premises are different, the settings are wildly inconsistent, and party sizes and composition are completely different, but the scenes are identically paced, from the final fight down to the final moment of true freedom for the dragons and singing to them as they pass away. Substitute Oran and Gorgamunger with Quna and Haddred respectively, the rest of the party for just the player character alone, and the setting from grim-dark fantasy plagues with the Rot to near-anime science-fantasy with a side of 40K Chaos (okie, maybe enough Chaos to consume several universes, but still), and of course, have different songs be sung, and you would have practically had the same scene. I am not trying to suggest that this sequence was copied... but I take the fact that the two stories convergently came upon this same sequence as a conclusion to similar questlines as a testament to the impact that this ending has. In other words, I believe this to be a case of "great minds think alike" rather than plagiarism or heavy inspiration (unless of course either Zoran or Thurston have played through that game before).
You've inspired me to try and work on something similar with a different system. You've all given me the spark to pick up my pen and draw and write again. You guys are amazing, and thank you for being such a wonderful group!!!
Out of all of the sessions you posted for those to re-watch; this one is the one I dreaded and is perhaps the first time I dreaded rewatching but the groups humor balanced this out.
Oh my, an episode like this only reinforced how much I've missed this show 🤩I suspected it was going to be a tough, tense, but also emotional session and boy, let me tell you, I got that and more. The last half an hour actually got me teary-eyed and the art surrounding the scene, you know which one I mean, was absolutely great *chef's kiss* 💗For the algorithm! Oh, but one more thing and I am gonna drop it down to avoid spoiling people... But damn, that fake out with the health bar was *evil* and I loved it, I am definitely gonna steal that idea and use it someday 😈
With all the madness and hilarity in the past episodes, the combination of the artwork and the song of Oran and Gorgamunger's final reunion hit me like a truck. What a truly beautiful moment.
Oh Misty eyes it's a whole new day, When will you come out out and play? Come now and wipe your tears, The path we take is never clear. _Long pause then violin buildup_ Oh Misty eyes I'll wait for you, High above that endless sky, Where sunshine do dry our pain Together we can rule this day... _Somber music swells_
Disagree on the Health Bar argument, after all someone should be able to tell how injured something is at a glance by the number of wounds it has sustained relative to its size. Is it completely accurate? No, hence the absence of hard numbers, but it's better than nothing as it helps alleviate the inevitable questions that opaqueness usually creates. It can also help inform players when they are currently in over their heads without having to nearly kill one, which in turn helps the world feel more organic rather than the string of prepared encounters it really is.
@@blargcoster well....if I see two zombies on opposite sides of a field and one is several meters tall and has all it's limbs while the other is average person sized and has no arms and one leg, I would assume the latter is easier to kill, wouldn't you?
I think might have been a brilliant way to get the metagaming (very extreme in the fey/owl king fight) that took over a bit into check. I think they are actually more there for the audience than players in a way.
YES!! Your back! I missed Rotgrind so much over the holidays. I Gm'ed pathfinder 2e for the first time. It was confusing in the start but it's a rock-solid system once you get the hang of it. Far superior to DnD5e in my opinion.
Oh my gosh just fellas so beautiful that I'm actually crying I wish that he could have saved him and he didn't have to suffer but he's not peace this was a good episode and the song just maybe wanted literally walk up in like give him a hug
This was an intense episode and I am once again reminded of how talented these chucklefucks are as writers and as voice actors. __ __ 2:11:35 MY heart fucking shattered.
All i can think about that was when I had my husky, who was like a son to me stolen by a drunk driver. You just made a 40 year old man ball in to his pillow, first time in years. Hope you are happy.
59:39 To be fair, I can see Speaker D ordering a steak, then screaming at it. [EDIT] The last quarter of this episode was a lot. No spoilers, but I've never wanted to hug Oran more than today, and that's counting the time he and Vaali respawned after getting run over by the chainsaw car. Beautiful episode, everyone.
Yeah I figured that by next episode. I usually listen to this while I drive, and the crew didn't say the crit fail increased her level of rot so I was a bit confused in the moment
Buzzyard, who helped with Oran's sad song, did a chill remix of it on his channel. ruclips.net/video/hAMi1U3guvc/видео.html

Gorgramunger, old friend.
I, Oran, have come to uphold my promise!
Let the sun shine upon this Lord of Rotgrind.

Oh boy Rotgrind is back! I cant wait to see what happens!
Thurston: "I SAID WE SAD TODAY"
this episode made me realise that Oran was never OK.

That was such a beautiful song, I haven't cried like that during a stream since the death of Lorn
I have never panic laughed harder than when the Complication I submitted almost got my favorite character killed-killed.
Time stamp?
@@gidofter_lukge I think it was the "Crawdadimus will protect me" one
Crawdadimus did protect. Valli lives to back flip another day.

That was such a great submission, good grief 🤣
I was waiting for one of them to say " It's a terrible day for rain. " - after Oran Old Yeller's his dragon.
I just wanted to say thank you to everyone for this as it has inspired me to play pathfinder so keep up the good work.
Zoran: see buddy it’s your favorite meal
Black bear: what? What’s going on
Zoran: be distracting and delicious!!

I am stunned by how malevolent our favorite GM could be in that fight. It was amazing. Keep it up!
Holy crap. This episode was an emotional ride. That last quarter of the episode had me crying. Damn good show all. Thank you for the ride and what a way to kick off the new year 😭🥲
I just gotta say, these monsters that Thurston keeps making are incredible, like the boss fights absolutely feel challenging and exciting!
Keep up the good work guys! Great stuff as always!
So great to have you guys back ^^. Speaker is going to have to rename himself squeakerD if his chair keeps going like that.

I already watched it early on Patreon, but just gotta drop a comment to say that it's great to have you back! Even if the episode was emotionally devastating... 😭
I like to imagine that music like the Regal Ancestor Spirit’s soundtrack from Elden Ring would play during their fight with Orin’s lost friend.
In the distance we hear faint plin plin plons echo through the entire fight
I knew this episode would have sad time, but by the Prince I didn't expect it to hurt as much as it does

Oh yeah no, that honestly pissed me off. To be honest, I get pissed off by a few things that Thurston does.
How do you tell how hurt something that is undead is at a glance?
Agreed.... besides,I just listen to these,I barely look at it so I don't usually notice or think about it.
