Lol that’s so awesome! I’m so thankful that there is someone in this world that understands how my brain works and that can further summarize it for me so I can get right in to finishing my goals. Thank you both 😊
Great video! Things I can recall right now are: PARA - How you should organize your second brain, by how actionable it is. P - Projects - Short term, what is cooking on the stove A - Areas - Long term, Slow cooker - Ex: Fitness R - Resources - Information that helps make new Projects or Area A - Archive - Declutter the other stuff, finished projects, no longer relevant areas/resources. Knowledge not used is knowledge wasted, we base everything around action!
As a business owner, and cook, the saucepan, instant pot and spice illustration was genius. This video is so succinct and provides so much value to quickly determine whether this is a system we should implement.
I was about to buy this today and thought, I'll see if Productivity Game has a video on it. Welp, I found it, watched it, liked it and now I own the book. lol.
I do the same, but I thought I'd throw him a plug: When I decide I'm going to buy the book, I try to click on the link in the episode notes, as I assume it's an affiliate link for him, and it's a small way to say thanks!
This is a great summary. I listened to the book but planned to go back to this section now you have saved me time and let me see how to use the system in real world.
This is out of this world. I stumbled upon something with a similar message, and it was absolutely astonishing. "Unlocking the Brain's Full Potential" by Alexander Sterling
You have introduced a lot of systems of doing different stuff in your channel. I am not even following for long time. I am just wondering which of these methods are you still using yourself? If you follow all of them, they would take all of your time. Or not?
That's a very good question to the creator. For me it has become like a mixture of bits and pieces that I learned in all the books I've read, to form kind of my ultimate methods and tools, depending on the situation
I was just thinking about something similar and see this question :D Maybe he can do follow up videos about things he has learned and used and tell us what he thinks of certain methods after a certain period of usage.
I scanned this book today at BN. It is pretty good, I will be picking it up as an ebook. I will also explore using this method and further refining my Note system. I think email could be sorted similarly and will be looking into that.
Should you merge your personal, academic and work „second brain“? I did not read the book yet but get the base principle thanks to this video, but the question above is an unanswered question for me.
What if you have single actions (like GTD where Single Actions vs Projects), where you place those in PARA? I always have ideas too, sometimes small, sometimes big. Sometimes it takes only one action in 30-60 minutes. Where to place those?
Question: If i have the same folder name at google drive and the same notebook name at evernote, do they have the same files inside like pdfs photos etc? Thanks for answering
Hello , One doubt i have in using PARA method. I have PARA folders implemented in multiple systems - Apple notes, google drive, macbook , icloud drive . My PROJECTS folders have multiple project subfolders inside them. Similarly for AREAS , RESOURCES , ARCHIVES have multiple subfolders. google drive (PARA) - because when i am at office we cannot connect to icloud drive. icloud drive (PARA) - because i need to sync my documents in apple ecosystem. Apple notes (PARA ) - because i keep all my notes there instead of Evernote. Macbook (PARA) - because i am saving big size video files and photos locally in my macbook. My Question is : Do i need to daily copy paste manually all the contents of my PROJECT subfolders to all the different PARA systems implemented ( eg : google drive, macbook, apple notes ,icloud drive) to maintain sync between them ? Please do reply. I am very confused on this PARA system.
Hi Bro, really great animations. just one suggestion which I guess you can put into your 'Areas of Improvement' 😂... and maybe later to archive Whenever you display a book, make sure it looks like a book instead of showing just the cover page photo of that book.
They are similar in that both are about getting what’s in your head out and into a trusted system. However, building a second brain is about managing your knowledge. GTD is about managing your commitments.
To me is different: GTD is more to focus actionable things that came from a good planning (second brain...) Zettlekasten or Second Brain --> GTD --> Calendar
and that is how it is done! Great job. I also read the book and i have to say, that i did not enjoyed it. To much talking arround the bush, felt like he was trying to fill pages.
After I found out that money is only a tool to exchange for values, I stopped saving and started investing.... Invest your money to make more money, By saving your money you only lose its value and it gets depreciated.... a fellow creator ^=^..,

Any chance you are working on combining the PARA method with AI to create the ultimate second brain AI assistant? (crosses fingers)

After watching so many videos finally found an easy to understand explanation.

Maybe Nathan need to add q&a video to cover this area. His point of view is valuable & whorted to share.

can anyone compare differences between categories of GTD (reference, someday, project…) and P.A.R.A? Are they the same?
Is it "areas of improvement" or "areas of responsibility"?
What would be the best application to do this on?
Nice!
amazing explanation from you, thanks for that
I have a question what program are you using in making your videos if you don't mind
Most of my notes are meeting notes and todos across my 200 customers. Is this a good system to capture that information?
