@@Madbandit77 The tv show was great. I own the boxset. Watched it with my grandpa when I was very young. I'm pretty well versed in 80's horror. Nice try though. I don't really understand what's wrong with mentioning the movie. It IS a movie from the 90's. Why does it matter that it was a tv show as well? They showed a scene from the movie in the video so obviously they are going to mention it. I think more people should see the movie because it's great.
I’m on my 80’s collection travels thanks to In Search of Darkness but 90’s will definitely be coming along as well. Such a memorable decade as well as the 80’s
Although I am a 70's and 80's fan, I admit the 90's had some of the greatest horror movies ever made. That decade needs to be revisited. It deserves that recognition. This is great.
I wish someone would do a definitive documentary on 80s fantasy films, Excalibur Conan The Barbarian and it’s many clones, Neverending Story Labyrinth and Time Bandit. It was really the Big Bang of a genre that continues to this day.
This looks amazing! I saw my favorites in there...Popcorn, Sleepwalkers, Mirror Mirror, The Gate 2, The People Under the Stairs, New Nightmare...and even The X-Files which is still one of my favorite tv shows of all time. I'm so excited for this. The only downside is that it won't be out until next year. I would to eventually get a 70's horror doc.
I still don’t quite understand what this is. Is it a re-edit of the “In Search of Darkness” series with a special focus on 1990-1994? Or are you discussing films from that period that weren’t in the original series?
What are you talking about? The In Search of Darkness trilogy was entirely focused on 80s horror. 1990 to 1994 obviously aren't the 80s. Ergo, this is an entirely new movie.
Yesssss this is great!!! Tales from the Crypt deserves its due!! I was in high school in the nineties, and I’m so excited to revisit things I saw in the theater (and haven’t seen yet, I made a list from your first trilogy and have been working through it). Great work!!
83'er here, 80's horror is like the gold standard, 90's are almost quaint. Just built up differently in my mind for no justifiable reason other than nostalgia
@@GoodBadFlicks the early 90s when films were still using animatronics, miniatures and appliances, was horror at its peak practical effects, just before CGI was used for everything, it's a shame, because I believe the two are best when used in unison for composite shots, primarily using practical effects and embellishing them with CGI is the best usage of CGI imho, if you can't even tell it's CGI, it's well done. *servos for animatronics were just getting small enough in the 90s to be great for creature features.

My most vivid early childhood memories are of Ace of base's The sign and All that she wants, Tom Petty's Free falling, Wilson Philips's Hold on, and Sheryl Crow's All I wanna do on the radio, when ever my parents would drive me around in their car/truck. Terminator 2 was the first film that really had an impact on me as well. I remember drawing Arnold with his black leather jacket and sunglasses in kindergarden with crayon. Serial mom and Ticks were two of the top films I watched over and over and over again on rotation on VHS. Was hoping Serial mom would get a mention. Glad to see it. Also glad to see Pumpkinhead 2 mentioned. Pumpkinhead 2 is the same story as Predator 2 and Pet Semetary 2. All which came out in the early 90's. Super underrated, grossly overlooked, and I have no idea why people bash those movies or claim those are bad movies. Why, because they weren't like the first movie?! Is Gremlins 2 a bad movie too?! Death becomes her too?! Awesome. Also, really like how you put 90's TV horror in the mix as well, because the 90's had a lot of that. Please, please at least reference the cartoon "safe for kids" Tales from the Cryptkeeper. Sadly the cut off is 1994, because one of the best 90's horror films I've watched this year was Habit from 1995. I assume there will be a part 2. I can't wait for this. I really liked part 1, loved part 2, part 3 was good and bad. I missed all the people from the first two. The 80's was a great decade for horror. Just think about it: why they stopped at '94? The answer is quite simple: you can already see some of the fads that infested the last 30 years of movies but most of all you can still see the '80s spirit. Can you say that Gremlins II, Tremors. Army Of Darkness, In the Mouth Of Madness or New Nightmare are 90s movies? Yes they were made in the '90s but the attitude is totally '80s.
