I think its because he knew even tho the people in the audience were booing, the people who would laugh at the recording, would laugh really fuckin hard, and he thrived on that. He seems to be having so much fun in every clip of him "bombing".
It sucks because you’ll never see anything like that for the ESPYS ever again. With all of the social justice garbage and attacks on language you will never see another comedian, especially someone like Norm, host another ESPYS again. Now it’s just boring, woke crap where these people all kiss each other’s butts and and talk about social justice issues and take literally all of the fun out of the show because they can’t shut up about their activism for two seconds. In fact, they would have probably canceled Norm for some of those jokes. Just sad.

Norm made me laugh more then any other person, he struck me as person who lived his life through the laughter he provided for the world. He always looked a little sad to me and I thought what a shame it was that he didn't know how much we loved him. I just miss you Norm, God bless you, you made the world a lot more fun.
I think he was a very introverted dude who knew a lot about this world without succombing to bitterness and that's part of what was beautiful about this man.
I feel the sadness too but I'm an introvert and understand not liking the parties etc. I don't know why he didn't want a relationship after his divorce but from 50 on he was hiding his illness except for family/manager and maybe being on meds and getting treatments, made him lonely. It's hard which is why he'd hint at his illness in some interviews. Hearing some people joke about his bloat (which seems very obvious from meds) must have been hard at times. You want to hide it but then you think, "How little do they care, how little do they really see me?"
Very rarely do I ever get sad when a celebrity dies. When I heard that Norm Macdonald died, I was very sad and it affected me far more than it probably should have. I went to see Norm live on a few occasions when he came to town. For one of his visits, I purchased my tickets online to the small venue which only held around 250 or so people. When I ordered the ticket for myself, I wrote a comment on my order explaining that I realized that there was no specific seating arrangement within the venue and they just seat people as people arrive. I stated that I was going through a horrible divorce, was in a bad way, and it would mean the world to me if they might be able to seat me somewhere closer to the front. I also said that I fully understood if my request could not be met. Well, when I showed up that night, there was a line of people in front of me being brought in by the ushers. When they looked at my ticket, they asked me to just stand off to the side while they let a few groups go in front. The man who set me aside just said for me to follow him and he brought me to a small table right beside the stage; and no one else was seated with me. When Norm Macdonald entered after the first few comics finished their sets, he stopped at my table, shook my hand, and said “Have a good night man, I hope you enjoy the show” and then he patted me on the back. Norm did well over two hours and the staff turned the house lights on while he was still performing!! On his way out, he shook my hand again, but didn’t say anything. I’ll never know if it was set up for me to be so close and to have my own table; not if they told Norm about what I had said. But I have a difficult time believing it was all just a coincidence. The world lost an amazing man when Norm passed. He touched a lot of people in a way that only Norm could; which is much different than Michael Jackson’s way of touching people…

Really awesome Norm compilation. You didn’t just stitch a whole bunch of segments end on end. You tried to tell a story here and I love it.
This tribute is 36 mins long and doesn’t have that many clips from the podcast. This man was an absolute legend, think about the amount of (good) content he has produced.
The early (pre-Netflix) seasons of the Norm MacDonald interview show couldn’t be beat. Larry King (“eye-ron”), the Man Grate, the banter with Adam Egret - amazing.
My dad was diagnosed with stage four bladder cancer just months before Norm died of cancer. He was my dad’s absolute favorite comedian, hands down no one else came close to making him laugh as hard. Norm dying hurt us both tremendously but especially my father. I miss him, he knew so much, he was the entire meaning of life and knew what life was all about, i still can't believe he kept his disease quiet until death itself. Until the last moment he could he wanted people to not be sad and be happy. What a guy.
Larry: "I never learned anything when I was talking"
Norm: "can I interrupt you there"
So simple, but so funny.
Today was the first time i ever heard of this guy, now im hours into a marathon of youtube videos. Shame he isn't still around, seems like a really unique and witty personality.
Norm and john Stewart had a great dynamic it's interesting to see how norm plays into the lefty talk show host in john Stewart and the righty with dennis miller, same with a letterman vs someone like fallon, he just knows his audience so perfectly
Yeah man. Norm put on a masterclass of comedy every single performance.
ummm. Norm hated politics and even more so talking about politics in interviews. He would always say "thats when people stop laughing"....
@@nathanieledwards7150 He did, but he loved Jon Stewart.
@@TheComedyHistorian oh yeah. Who doesn't love Jon Stewart? He's such a real person who's got that naturally funny swing
@@nathanieledwards7150 anyone who panders to their audience is the opposite of Norm.
This is a polished jewel for those of us who have recently found this sadly missed genius.
Thanks for this video. Whenever I feel low ,I scout for Norm's videos. He just cracks me up no matter what. What a legend!!
Great tribute to a great human. You are spot on with you caption comment, wether it means anything or not. Laughed the whole time and norm made people happy, he just didn't make you laugh intermittently, you walked away feeling good. Not many people at all have that impression.
He made me really happy. No comedian has ever struck me and had me laughing endlessly the way he did. Above all he was a kind soul who truly inspires me to be a better person too. Long Live Norm
I miss him so much he can never be replaced. I hope he knew that I really do
Norm forever. I still remember being a kid and seeing his bit about the doberman for the first time. He made me laugh more consistently than anybody else in this world.
his delivery is excellence. pure perfection. 1of1.
No one will ever deliver a joke as good again! It takes a real level of genius to not even say funny things but have the whole room laughing. Rip to mine and many others favorites to ever do it! ❤️
Thank you for this. An excellent tribute to Norm which encapsulates the spirit behind his comedy.
He'll never know what he was to so many.
He was like losing family. He still makes me laugh during my 1000th binge. I hope he's in the heaven he believed in and winning every bet. Miss you Norm! 😔
This is pure gold. The best compilation of Norm I've seen. This is a TRUE best of. Laughed my ass off at the "Man Grate" seg. Thanks for this! 😂
Awesome, awesome, tribute.
Thank you!
Here’s to Norm.
Thanks for the laughs.
You’re terribly missed. ✨
I love Norm. Rest easy buddy
I have had the privilege of seening this legend live numerious times! I hope he is telling the moth joke in heaven
There will never be a replacement that suffices. Norm was one of a kind.
Truly
Jesus I wish I found this guy sooner his humor is so close to mine it's great
Norm is the best
This man was unbelievably brilliant. 😂 miss him 😥
That mangrate ad had me dying for far too long. haven't laughed that hard in a long long time.
Norm. Obviously the GOAT. That said,
This is so incredibly well put together.
The cutting you do around all the ManGrate(sp?) material had me cry laughing for the whole segment.
We were beyond blessed.
Norm is my all time favorite comedian!!!! No one else like him - best story telling jokester to ever live!!!
Just learned about this guy yesterday, can’t wait to see a show!
🤣😂🤣😂🤣😂
Hands down one of the best compilations I’ve ever watches
The early (pre-Netflix) seasons of the Norm MacDonald interview show couldn’t be beat. Larry King (“eye-ron”), the Man Grate, the banter with Adam Egret - amazing.
My dad was diagnosed with stage four bladder cancer just months before Norm died of cancer. He was my dad’s absolute favorite comedian, hands down no one else came close to making him laugh as hard. Norm dying hurt us both tremendously but especially my father. I think it’s stupendous my dad survived more than three years after diagnosis, but I know that if Norm were still alive my dad would still be around just to hear his jokes.
Came here because of keemstar, I really needed this today been having a rough time rest easy king
Keemstar?
Yeah bit weird but he talked about Norm’s passing months back on his podcast and I happened to hear it and he was really down about it. Figured he was worth checking out and he didn’t disappoint
