    Spellborne Founder here.
    Thanks for the honest feedback regarding the game, I will highlight and answer some of your queries and I do think we should highlight them more in our marketing as I've seen users have similar questions.
    1. The genre can feel a bit too congested with all the ROM hacks and everything. The main issue is the control over IP and accessibility on mobile. Spellborne was built as a different IP that spans across multiple games (we have one more game coming out later this year). Talking about Spellborne, it is designed as a mobile first MMO. Basically, all the things where community projects like Pokemmo struggle, this will shine. Be it availability on mobile, or regular content updates and everything. Our main selling factor is the nostalgia and the cosy nature of the game.
    2. Things this game adds on top of the old school Pokemon games, include a few actually. So, Spellborne is more about decision making, in Season 1, there is only a single decision as we're just setting things up for now. But your decisions in the game can unlock hidden side quests, hidden mutations for your monsters, plus a lot of other variables. All these variables mean that everytime you play the game, your experience would be different. On top of this, the game is open ended, it allows you to complete the quest line in any flow, as it follows a branching storyline. This is very effective for content creators and players alike as they get magic moments, which can create memorable incidents in the game as well as something surprising for the viewer. As well as smaller mechanics like monster trust, which forces the user to actually take care of their monster, if the trust goes low, monster stops following your orders and so forth.
    3. Right now, the game's state is very early. Things we're working on include:
    - Better monster sprites in the battle system
    - Faster battles
    - Better NPC AI for dynamic battles, so they do not feel too monotonous.
    - Plus all the other features such as guilds, pvp friendly, breeding etc.
    4. The art is actually fully original, all handmade in-house. We do not have any relation with the Pixels team.
    Plus this game is built on a custom game engine, as we wanted to support low end devices in regions such as Brazil where monster catching games are huge but they do not have computers.
    The current map is also about 1/8th of the total size.
