Actually it only taste about 35 percent of an egg and gotta say it's much more delicious and expensive,and uh we eat it cus (story time) A long long time ago a farmer has duck in the time they already needed their chicks to be birthed (yey baby duck!) some did not birth but so the mom will give birth again there is this that will be left out so they cooked it then most of the people like it and now it not just a culture it become a job for a living to feed their families

So my dad had bought some quail eggs like that right? Except they weren't cooked. He threw them in the fridge for a few days and I went back being the curious person I am and looked at them. My brother was talking about how good it tasted so I was like wth ok. So I felt the eggs they we're warm so I thought my dad had boiled them all and put them back in the fridge. SO I TOOK ONE OUT AND CRACKED IT OPEN AND OH MY GOD. THERE WAS BLOOD. AND THE POOR LITTLE QUAIL WAS BREATHING AND MOVING. A minute later it died. I didn't know what to do with it when i opened it so I stood there in shock. When it died I legit buried it. So kids, don't snoop around your asian parents food. My dad is Filipino and my mom is Japanese When I was in Japan, my mother introduced me to Takoyaki And then when I was 7, I moved in the Philippines, where my father introduced me to Balut Personally, I like Takoyaki more, but I love how Balut is more different to your average boiled egg The softness of the egg was so nice and the soup was salty but it gave the feeling of the softness of the egg enhanced by the salty taste of the soup! On how the parts were was odd, but the fact it was chewy yet soft really made me squeal inside, and was also accompanied by the savoury soup, making the egg a little cocoon of salt and fat! Its like a perfect combination!

DW ASMR oh they are very delicious, I usually get them at this Filipino store called Seafood City but idk if that around where you live on and also they taste good when sprinkled with salt and chili vinegar
My moms side is Pacific Islander, all from Guam & Saipan and this is one of the most traditional dishes, my grandma made this rarely but I still remember being so sad/ grossed out as a child, I’m 18 now & I just forced myself to try it just to make her happy, I did have to close my eyes and not think too much about it but I’m so glad I did! It’s the best!

You got no Jam the actual duck inside tastes like chicken broth and the yolk tastes like normal yolk but richer and infused with chicken broth taste, the white part doesn't taste like anything it just takes up the taste of whatever you dip it in!

When I was in Japan, my mother introduced me to Takoyaki
And then when I was 7, I moved in the Philippines, where my father introduced me to Balut
Personally, I like Takoyaki more, but I love how Balut is more different to your average boiled egg
The softness of the egg was so nice and the soup was salty but it gave the feeling of the softness of the egg enhanced by the salty taste of the soup! On how the parts were was odd, but the fact it was chewy yet soft really made me squeal inside, and was also accompanied by the savoury soup, making the egg a little cocoon of salt and fat! Its like a perfect combination!

My moms side is Pacific Islander, all from Guam & Saipan and this is one of the most traditional dishes, my grandma made this rarely but I still remember being so sad/ grossed out as a child, I’m 18 now & I just forced myself to try it just to make her happy, I did have to close my eyes and not think too much about it but I’m so glad I did! It’s the best!
