We're back on the Carnival Pride for a 14-day Journeys cruise to the Southern Caribbean with stops in St. Croix, St. Kitts, Martinique, Barbados, St. Maarten, San Juan, and Grand Turk. We were slated to sail from November 3-17, 2019 but ended up with a bonus sea day, thanks to an unexpected storm at the very end of the cruise that delayed our return to Baltimore!

In the closet where the hanger Rod is very close to the shelves if I'm not mistaken there is latches on the front of the shelves so they can fold down and you can actually hang longer items in that closet.
Oh nice, good to know! I've never examined those shelves too closely!!
Love this ship. We were on the Pride with Dr E supposedly going to Bermuda but hurricane skirted Bermuda so we were diverted to the Bahamas, same itinerary on the Conquest in 2017. Not happy cruisers since Bermuda was much more costly and no refund. Love the Renaissance decor and perfect size ship. Your video this year on the Pride got us looking up this 2019 Journeys cruise. We’ve been cruising Carnival since 1982. Haven’t started back cruising again since COVID but hope to get back soon. Your videos are making us antsy to get back. We live just northwest of Richmond and almost your neighbors. 💕💕💕

Such a nice guy too I met him while getting off the ship I saw his morning show and I was laughing at his jokes and he heard my laugh and he was laughing back at my laugh to where he said to me ma’am please stop making me laugh with hearing ur laugh lol too funny 😂

Sorry, I didn't read through all the previous comments, but did you notice any difference with the cabin temp? You pointed out setting the thermostat warmer than the max cold setting, bc other people recommended it to get the A/C to function better. I don't recall you ever doing that again on camera, so I'm assuming it didn't work as advertised. Do you remember?
Love your videos, very informative and you guys look like you're always having fun. The Wifey and kids and I did the Pride Aug of 2018 and loved it. We're booked again for Aug of 2020. It's the perfect size cruise, not too big or too small and the kids love the activities. We did the Anthem of the Seas July of 2019, great ship, but almost too big for us to get to all the cool stuff on board. The Pride is perfect for us.

Red Frog pub has happy hour on all embarkation days? If so I have never noticed that. I’m getting a fish bowl on my cruise in September.
We've seen it on all our recent cruises, and if the ship doesn't have a Red Frog then it's probably at the casino bar which does have a more limited menu and no fishbowls. Woohoo!! :D
That was so funny. I have not been on a Carnival ship and I have never heard that much speaking over the intercom on any ship I have been on.
Oh yeah, Dr. E is all over the speakers, ha ha... he's a hoot though!! :P
Hi D and Jay. On day one why not skip dinner and do sail away? You know there's plenty of places to get dinner besides the MDR. Personally I never go to the MDR first night.
This is true! I know some of Dee's favorite bites of the cruise always come on embarkation night in the MDR, but who knows... we may rebel and skip dinner again sometime like we did in our Victory series, ha ha... :P
I will be on the Pride again this May 24th! It’s fun to watch these videos knowing the ship.

Can’t wait for the Martinique and Barbados episodes! Going on a journey cruise January 11th. We booked the Jolly Rogers pirate ship excursion for Barbados but have yet to book a Martinique excursion. Any suggestions? I may just book what y’all do! lol
Woohoo! Our Martinique episode should be out on the 11th & 12th... we did a north island tour with Beyond The Beach and had a great day. It reminded us of Dominica to a degree... very green, very mountainous, much undeveloped, so you definitely need a plan or you probably won't have a fun day. A few folks we talked to just got off and wandered around the tiny port shopping and said they hated it, hah... but it was one of our favorite stops!!

Congrats on turning diamond! I will be rooming with a diamond in Sept on the Mardi Gras and I will turn platinum on the Breeze in Nov 😁. 181 days til the Pride and (hopefully) Bermuda for us. Hmm will have to try the peroxide/Clorox wipes. We always wipe down with Clorox wipes. Dee’s top is so cute and Jay, I will say it again, you look so good in solid colors. So nice that you have Dr E. I hope he’s still on the Breeze in Nov 2020. Wow, ship on a stick so early, yay! So, is a free shirt worth the price of bingo? 🤔. Journeys cruise, someday! You guys are so lucky. Such a fun embarkation day.
We used to take regular ol' Clorox Wipes and then always forget to use them, hah... but neither one of us caught the crud on this long adventures, so hey... we're taking them on future cruises too! They actually ended up giving the shirts out for free to a few folks who weren't even playing bingo, so ehhhhh... who knows, ha ha... :P
ParoDeeJay If I may suggest, use them at Disney. I have been on 8 cruises and never got sick. The last 2 times at Disney (2013 n 2016), I got sick. Was hospitalized 2 nites in 2016. All those little petrie dishes running around 👧🏻👦🏼 😀

How do you fit two weeks of those in two suit cases? My husband is also tall and bug and his clothes take up most of two cases, so we normally take three and that’s for a 7 day cruise.
Our loyalty level with Carnival gets us unlimited free laundry service, so we do take advantage of that a lot!! :D

I found the drinks on the Pride very weak too! I agree with Dee it was just fruit juice. Next time we plan on ordering a bottle for the room to add to our bar drinks, so we don’t just drink all that sugar in their fruit bar drinks!
We've taken to ordering just a single liquor with a diet soda these days for the most part, hah... so much sugar otherwise!! :P

I believe you can ask them for just toppings on a plate, yes... or some folks get the fried taco salad bowl but then just don't eat the bowl. Either way, hah...
How do you guys like the Ocean View rooms compared to the room you just stayed in?
This cabin we stayed in on the Pride is an "interior" and it's our favorite budget room of the entire fleet, ha ha... so much more space with some natural light... heck yeah!! :D

How do you decide what floor to get your cabin? I was thinking of possibly being on the Lido deck for convenience.
We tend to go as low as possible, midship. That gives you the least motion. We actually did an entire video on how we choose our cabin locations and what we factor in while considering that. ruclips.net/video/X-bjbVXpZMk/видео.html

We usually stay at the Best Western on O’Donnell Street. It’s not super close to the port but a zoom lens helps, hah!! :P

Lord bingo is awesome when we went on our cruise last year it was his first trip on the pride and he asked my daughter what was the best moment on the ship and she said meeting you to him and he gave her a metal

Went to Martinique once...never again!
Ended up being probably our favorite stop of the cruise because we got to see so much of the island. Rainforest, waterfalls, ruins, beautiful architecture. We had a blast!!

Why do you guys go late to the pier and not show sailaway activities?
We're normally at the port super early, since we have priority status with Carnival. After 30+ cruises with them, we've showed off about everything we can, ha ha... and we always try to do something a little different when we can. Sometimes we hit up sailaway, sometimes we don't!! :P

Yep, we do mostly personality-oriented videos, observational humor, etc. Our port day videos obviously show off a bit more travel information, but the embarkation and sea days are more freeform, ha ha... :P
