It makes you think about the theoretical existential dread knowing that humans are by far very low on the totem pole that pokemon are reavered as gods and yet treated as a pet but no matter what the monster, you are weaker than it, you cannot even walk down a public path without a pokemon protecting you... are they really the pets?

You missed something, as established in Omega Ruby & Alpha Sapphire. There are 2 Main universes, the original without Mega-Evolutions and a Second one with Mega-Evolutions, so far there is not info if the Z-Crystal, Gigantamax and Terrastalisation are in his own Universes.
