After reading Secrets of a Javascript Ninja I found a passion that hasn't dissipated in a decade. It literally change the course of my life. Thanks John!
@@mma93067 of course. But how many do you think are refactoring old sites? jQ is still alive and well, but also forgotten in many (overwhelming?) cases - as long as nothing breaks
I remember using jQuery whilst it was alpha, or perhaps beta, and it transformed my life... coming from actionscript (also ecma script) into browserland was a nightmare but jquery made it accessible, sizzle selectors can be used in a super semantic way, and the event unification for browsers was what the world needed.... and ofc, plugins were* great to write and use... I would recommend Panda if you see this btw John, it's very nice and the team behind it is great.

Loved this one, big fan of super smart people that don't bring a big ego.
Same!
Wasn't the statistics like 80% of the web still runs on jQuery :) ? That's impact! You changed the web John.
Yes. But there’s lots of legacy AND Wordpress on the web which I believe they still ship.
With jquery 4 they dropped a lot of legacy stuff.
