Taira is a very talented and innovative youngster. Only a matter of time before he becomes Japan's first UFC champ.
That would be cool. I remember Yushin Okami fought for the belt but prime Anderson Silva was on another level. This flyweight star has a better chance with his all around skill set.

Take the much stockier and SUPERIOR Judo/Greoco Roman wrestler Rinya Nakamura (also a UFC prospect). He's fighting at 135lb, so his legs, proportionally, are not as long, against larger bodies he deals with at 135lb, even though his height also is around 5'7" like Tatsuro...
So, again, even though Nakamura is a superior wrestler and Judo guy, compared to the BJJ specialist Tatsuro, the former wouldn't be able to take people down the way Tatsuro did it here... Fortunately, again, Rinya is an elite wrestler, so taking an opponent down isn't a big issue, for the most part (except against other elite wrestlers)...

Honestly, having 24 y.o Japanese UFC champ can be a game changer.
First of all, HOLY GLAZE By bisping.. perez put up some serious challenge in those short rounds, so i dont see anything other than a competitive fight. But taira man, improvement is there, his style is there, and his goofy/silly character he got is one of the most important thing he should have😂

I don't agree with the "exceptional performance", Perez got a nice part of Taira in round 1. Even taking him down. But to taira's credit, when he got the advantageous triangle, he moved like a cat and stayed on target. Had the leg injury happened or not perez would have had a hard time since taira had his back

Finally a contender pantoja won’t just be able to exploit his grappling advantage against in the last 2-3 rounds. Great fighter but it seems his last 3 opponents didn’t prepare for that.

Kudos to both fighters to fight an unexpected opponent. Perez did better against Mokaev, even injuring him. But Mokaev could resist until the end of the fight and he won the fight.
