We are a Mumbai based Biker couple (Kiran) and (Sachin). We have been riding since last 8 years and till date we have ridden for more than 3 lakh kms plus on our individual bikes. I think Maddog gives a black cover to completely cover the lights because it is sometimes required in many states across India to cover your fog lights/aux lights when you are riding in the city, aux lights that are completely covered are not ment to be inspected as per the law and hence helps avoiding any trouble with the cops.
If you notice, many off-road suv and gypsies that have fog lights have covers on them when they are in the city.
Avoid such states.

After a bit of research...got to know three main things about aux lights...
1. combined wattage of aux lights should not be above the wattage of main headlamps. for example if your headlight is of 55 watts then combined wattage of aux light should not exceed that.
2. the aux lights should be installed below the level of main headlamps...never above that
3. should be at a slight outward angle like \../ though this is not much checked or cared.
dont use in city unless absolutely necessary.. else cops may catch and fine you...giving more reasons.
most of the indian bikes have 55/60 watts headlamp.... so scout x is the best option in all

Can you help with mount for MT15 and best lights for it. I do have highway driving, which is fairly dark and i drive generally at 70kmph
GUYS PLEASE MAKE SURE YOUR AWARE OF THE BIKES ALTERNATORS CAPACITY. IT NEEDS TO BE POWERFUL ENOUGH TO SUPPORT THE DRAW OF THE LIGHTS INSTALLED. SO DONT JUST BUY THE BIGGEST OR MOST EXPENSIVE LIGHTS ALSO CONSIDER IF THE LIGHTS CAN BE SUPPORTED BY THE CHARGING SYSTEM.

Ok .but what about vehicles coming from opposite side. It's ok in Highway if there is a proper divider filled with plants
First of all everyone in city is riding in high Beam, after seeing this if they ride with aux lights on in cities it would be a mess for opposite coming vehicles

Hi Kiran/Sachin. Kindly suggest which model to go for my Duke 390. My riding starts at 3am till 9pm and sometimes entire night with already ridden highways from Delhi to Guwahati, Kolkata, Mumbai, Vizag, Kashmir. I don't want spread of light on highway but more focused light which throw lights 500-700m ahead of me. Thank you.
Go for alpha and for spot scout X... more than enough to ride from 3 a.m to 7 a.m. and later in the evening

Not at all .... have installed the same on many bikes no battery issue in any bikes came up

Does companies deleberately give low quality lights, so that no one speeds in the night? Have you considered this fator?
What's your suggestion on RE- C350 so that it's better for both city and highway on moderate level ride which is best suited and not putting any load on existing stock battery.

You could anyday check the amperage of any light with a barebone multimeter...so don't misguide peoples saying that battery will be drained... actually these things have very high margin for sellers..

How does a hill resident need such aux lights when u have more bends than straight roads... ( I am a hill resident too ) .. All u require is a great headlight bulb like a nighteye.. And maybe just average aux facing outwords a bit for the corners, again not these expensive ones

Maddog lights are sufficient
It is for lower cc bike ...for higher cc and high speed bike 2 lights will be required
Maddog alpha gives similar performance as HJG 60W one

Please don't promote/share wrong information.
Traffic rules are same for highway & city, in fact driving rules for highway is more strict than city.
AUX Lamps, specially LED's are very irritating for the driver opposite side. You will get your clarity but opposite side driver will lost his visibility.
Any AUX lamp for car/bike above or parallel to the height of main headlight is strictly illegal.
Bike/Car engine capacity doesn't matter.
Enhancement of experience/ reading rule books are highly required/recommend.
