Oh my, as beautiful as those drone shots are, it doesn't give enough credit to that day, haha. Strong inversion, almost no clouds, wind in Castejon that didn't make any sense, each of us trying to stick to the group while having a while different idea in mind, and
THEN there we all are in those insane mountains, high up over the glaciers and cloud base in the north. At first terrified of the wind giving basically no way back or chances to land safely, then just gliding like a boss over the clouds in perfectly smooth air.
THEN back to reality with, no lift and wall of wind. We land talk, give interviews, picnic, have fun as if we were there just for fun, just to realize the race is on and run for out lives to take off minutes before the deadline, with back wind, fighting the cows and barely any clearance. What a day!
What an amazing day! All the pilots cheering in the air at Peña Montañesa, that was amazing!
