Hey Henry Great video but i looked into using Robinhood too for margin And they let me know that Robinhood did not support selling puts while using margin. So i was told i needed full collateral to place sell put order. So thisbmeans that i can use your margin strategy for lower priced stocks correct ??

It’s a risky strategy, but he knows what he is doing. I personally would not buy 1200 shares of VTV and sell CCs. I’d much rather sell out of the money puts. The fact that that etf only has monthly options is a negative for me. The volume on those options are also low and the spreads are wide, so not attractive. His use of VTV as an example for steady income was puzzling.
So if I’m understanding, you’re selling deep out of the money puts on margin. Effectively naked puts since it’s not your money. Free premium basically.

You’re minimizing the amount of risk that is accumulating as you continue to roll. It’s not a no brainer, especially for a stock that continues to slide. You’ll eventually have to roll out multiple months or even quarters, or even a full year, to roll for a credit. It is not something that you should state as a “no brainer.” Also, American Airlines’ parent company last declared for bankruptcy in 2011. So to state that “it’s American Airlines” like it’s the backbone of the US economy is pretty ridiculous.

One important point. In order to use margin to sell options you MUST have equities or commons to use as collateral. You can't use cash as collateral to sell options on margin.
@ts4426 Fidelity, Merrill Edge and Tastyworks (and many more) let you sell naked puts with margin. Tastyworks collateral requirement for puts is usually about 20% of the cash secured position
This depends on your options approval level. It isn’t true for me at any brokerage (including Robinhood, Webull, and TDA; contrary to other’s comments)
