You are a good teacher, but you are wrong about the battery. You can short the board when you use metal scissors with the battery plugged in. Never use super glue on anything but the home button bracket. You will give yourself a heart attack when you have to remove it again if you use it any other place. Never take shortcuts on any device. Go very slow. Never use metal pry tool on very delicate things like flex cables for any reason.

May I ask why you do not cleanup the old adhesive to give new adhesive a clean surface to bond with?
