Season 2 is my favourite season. It's the season with most episodes I can watch again and again. Tall Tales, The Usual Suspects, Nightshifter, Folsom Prison Blues, What Is And What Should Never Be, Houses of the Holy and probably many more episodes were just so great. But I understand where they're coming from. Plotwise, not a lot happens in that season. Only the first and the last two episodes are heavy with plot, I feel like.
Season 8: The church scene where Jared should have gotten a damn EMMY for his performance there! Not just the trials, but Sam falling into such a pit of despair for letting Dean down all those times, and Dean pulling him back into his arms and telling him to 'let it go'. Damn, Jared, you had me sobbing my eyes out in that scene!

Man, season 2 has some of my VERY favorite episodes: Croatoan, Nightshifter, Usual Suspects, Hollywood Babylon, Folsom Prison Blues, What is and What Should Never Be, and the gut punch that is All Hell Breaks Loose Part 2 (“WHAT AM I SUPPOSED TO DO?!” and Bobby telling Dean that the world is ending and Dean screams: “THEN LET IT END!”) It’s a nearly flawless season in my opinion with lots of real gems. Introducing Henriksen after what happen in S1’s Skin was one of my favorite things.
