Keith Woolridge I know it’s like they don’t want your money I want your business same thing at the Texas Barnaminiums you tube channel. I own 15 acres and I’m looking to build something like this but again like you said I guess we’ll look somewhere else
GMoney it’s selling for 675k which is very high in the sense of sqft and it being Texas. Real Estate roughly takes 28-41% increase of the properties cost. So I’m assuming somewhere between 160-300k from start to finish.
Occupancy permit based on zoning law policy for tiny house projects and shipping container home. That's legal documents for Google maps data registration to publish certain address.
This is a gorgeous house, but $675k is too expensive for a container home, even one this nice. One of the main advantages of container building is the reduced cost, but this one must be sitting on a very expensive pc of land. I do love the design, although it needs more bedrooms at this price.
I used to live in Lago Vista. I can vouch that $675K is not unreasonable for a house that size (container or not) that close to Lake Travis. Especially with that gorgeous view of the Hill Country.
The point of shipping container homes is the easy affordability. Now the banks are getting into it there by rasing the prices. If one have six hundred thousand. Why will they want a shipping container home? Just buy regular brick mansion for same price.
@@ElliesChaoticWorld Actually, the primary reason the container home trend began was definitely cost savings, then it became about sustainability, and then it became about being trendy for its own sake, and so on. @Adarah Israel it's Texas how much value is it really in this location come on I could see if this was sitting by a lake in California or something then I could understand the whole location narrative. but it's freaking Texas were talking about here
@@mountaintop4379 Land values around Austin, Tx, especially near Lake Travis & the Colorado River are very high. Austin is called the California of Texas for a reason (and it's not just because of the politics).
This I a gorgeous home! Very tastefully done; and lots of room for a small to medium size family. The only thing that I would change is the rooftop. I'm not a fan of astroturf. So, I'd probably go with something different. Maybe a wood deck rooftop.
@Keith Woolridge I've never understood the desire to use astroturf to decorate homes. Some people like to use it on apartment, or condo balconies, because they don't have a backyard. Even that seems odd to me. In this case, the home is surrounded by a beautiful piece of property with natural grass. A wooden deck would give it a more _'upscale'_ appearance. It's already brilliant!
Do you know the architect or contractor for this project? Looking to do something very similar in Northern Cali and would like to make contact. This is the first container home that I love everything about it.
Very nice concept.. containers are strong but I'm struggling with what's more practical and probable as a necessity in the future a bulletproof house or floodproof house. With climate change I'm leaning on it being capable to rise and float even if primarily stationed on solid ground.

The Containers have been modified quite a bit and with the addition of the steel I-Beam extending out from the Containers, wouldn't have been cheaper to just build the whole thing with I-Beams and forgoe the Containers?
I’d agree, but if you live closer to the ocean, the containers will go for less. Maybe 2-3k a piece. They’ll cost more depending on transportation cost.
NAHH getting them there 8 of them 4 small 4 big all that glass and steel i beams fixtures are 12withe pool and materials prep ie pluming electrics then the plot cost... i say it cost maybe 550 with help from industry mates and profit is 150k+
My guess would be around $250k for construction. The list price is $675k, which suggests that it's sitting on very expensive land, in addition to a hefty markup.

you are prob right $300K was for the house and 350K for the land. for a 4K SF house you are looking around 350 to 400K unless you design it yourself. I spoke to the company in Australia the container home builders. they said its 20 ft container is 15 to 20K and 40 ft is 30 to 70K depending on what you want done. I think your best bet is to get a builder yourself and buy the containers yourself verses going to companies

The land in that area is pretty expensive. The views of the hill country and the lake are prime in that area.
