My theory is that Luz was fighting Belos and lost or he was able to get some hair or something in order to create CreepyLuz and he ordered her to go to the human realm and do something. But CreepyLuz still had Luz's good nature so despite being a nuisance in the beginning of the song, she does go to cheer up Amity after the library incident. The growing feelings for Amity are directly conflicting with whatever Belos ordered her to do which causes her to become conflicted. But at the prom, she decides to give into the half of her that is Luz and dances with Amity.
