Alright, so the Ghostbusters' second outing on the NES isn't quite GotY material, but it's a huge improvement over the first game, and it's a lot of fun.
Props to you man. This game may be a little better then the first but it's still very hard and very annoying to get through. not to mention repetitive. you have to play the final level 4 times. It make sense why but I still call that padding.
+ryan489 Haha I won't argue. They reasoned its inclusion well, but it still feels like they realized the game was too short. Same with the Statue of Liberty stage. Cool idea but it lasts FOREVER!
@@keithbellair9508 🙄 tossing in a bunch of sentimental, gratuitously thrown in drivel that detracts from the quality of the story. Nonsensical plot writing, less frightening looking ghost effects. Yeah, sure, it was better than the first....if you like total crap that is.
i didnt played this version but first version is better than this because i like capturing ghost soundtrack when catching 4 ghosts 200 400 600 800 points or cash waow awesome
For some strange reason I was actually expecting the opening screen to say _Three Stooges_ with the Ghostbusters walking out to say that they're in the WRONG game... 🤔
Amazing how much better these games got in the early 90’s… , this one looks pretty good.. i never knew this game existed until today.. i had ninja turtles, jaws which was a good one, iron tank, all the marios, looney tunes, baseball, and some others i domt remember.
This game was a hell-of-a-lot better than the original GHOSTBUSTERS NES Game. At least there's some strategy that you have to factor in. Activision knew the 1st game was horrendous so they tried their best to improve the 2nd game a little. I remember receiving the 1st GHOSTBUSTERS game in the late 80's and I was so excited to play it. But right from the beginning it was just terrible and I was really disappointed. This occurred 35+ years ago and when I do take my Nintendo games out every now and then, I always pass up the opportunity to play the original again.
I appreciate the fine folks at Imagineering in Glen Rock NJ for giving credit to all those who made their game; the game's quality might be mediocre, but I can't fault them for their openness & going against the standard of the time of not crediting those who actually made the games.
I am mad at myself for sticking only to first party Nintendo games like Mario, Zelda, Metroid. There were plenty of third party titles that were well made and I missed out.
.....huh. There's a fair number of the possessed items in these levels (the books in the third level, half of the items in the fifth level) that I did not know you could just walk under - I thought you HAD to use the ghost trap to get by them when I was a kid playing this. I think the farthest I ever made it, with continues, was the first iteration of the final level.
This game is obviously better than the first one. The first one was terrible, but this one had a lot of improvements, including the Ghostbusters theme song itself.
what if the ghostbusters cartoons and/or movies had people like miley cyrus zooey deschanel britney spears avril lavigne gilbert gottfried alicia silverstone and/or denise richards
8:35 SoL "scene" takes me back 25 years or so. Still remember playing this part.

+NintendoComplete yeah I forgot how long those stages lasted. That's crazy.

The first time i ever raged quite was because of this game, this game gave me Ojeda
This game has one of the best game over screens I have ever seen!
I love the 8 bit theme song of this game.
That's literally what I looked up and found this haha
Me too.
We're back! And ready to believe you!
*Instantly crashes several times and slimed within 3 blocks*
For all it's faults, at least this had far more to do with the actual film than most licensed games of the time.
Yeah, but the second Ghostbusters was a, pardon the French, sh***y followup.
Big budget…
@@fishintheocean-i4gnah. It was better than the first

And yet it still is better than the 2016 movie!
And also better than that GB game that ties in to that movie.
Come on now..
I liked the Egon scene.

I've remember seeing & playing this video game when I was a child!!
KingofDSLR3907 yes that'sone of the function of the human brain.

The first looked pretty lame.. amazing how much better they got in the late 80’s…
Lol. There are very few games that aren't better than the first. Jekyll and Hyde and Dragons Lair are 2 that come instantly to mind.
this was part of my original NES library, its a good game
some of the ghosts in the Statute of Liberty stage would be horrifying to see in reaL life.....
For some strange reason I was actually expecting the opening screen to say _Three Stooges_ with the Ghostbusters walking out to say that they're in the WRONG game... 🤔
Those were some good times. Playing this game!
I first had this game way back in June 1990. A lot of fun & follows the film very well.

I honestly dig the 8-bit rendition of Higher and Higher that’s used for the Lady Liberty segments.
The last part seems like four players would have some fun.
There's only two things I never liked about this game.
1. You can't pause it.
2. Starting from the right and going to the left.

I was with the original until they got to the stairs. Thumb cramping, soul destroying fun.
@@jordil6152 Making it all the way to the top of the staircase is quite difficult. Did you make it to Gozer?
@@LastLetterisZed702 Not even close. Even Game Genie let me down.
This game actually had pretty good 8-bit renditions of Ghostbusters, Your Love Keeps Lifting He Higher, and Auld Lang Syne

24:06 - "Auld Lang Syne"
What is that song at the end? I dont mean the "who ya gonna call" song
That accompanies the newspaper headline? “Auld Lang Syne.”

I had that 3 stooge game. The game wasn't really good. But that part was hilarious
The ecto-1 levels were the best; gotta luv that caddy even though it takes forever to start up.

I have absolutely no idea what's going on.
The worst of the 3 "Ghostbusters II" games, and yet it still has some charm and value.

IT needs a pause button! Okay, it's not "terrible". It's not great either. But it's a bit fun. The first game is Terrible
Wow, both games are horrible
