why there are no ancient and medieval cities in the form of native indian architecture, like other historic cities of euro like paris, venice etc

actually ancient and medieval india had numerous planned cities . vijaynagar was described by portugese as best planned city in the world even better than rome. madurai , mathura , jaipur , patna , vaishali were highly planned cities. its just that due to 1000 years of invasion , all the city planning has crumbled.
still if you wanna see medieval architecture , other than temples , you should visit chettinad region in tamil nadu , old towns of bikaner, jodhpur, jaisalmer , shekhawati in rajasthan, etc
