It is really cool when you SFF BookTube folks go a wee bit off-piste into topics of personal interest. e.g. Stoicism in this episode. I know absolutely nothing about this so it’s fascinating to listen to a rarer topic. I know that the Johanna Reads channel tends to do this too, and I had the same reaction here today. Excellent. I do not read enough non-fiction, and probably less nowadays that I’m constantly battling to keep up with BookTube influences - recommendations, events, Readalongs, etc. I tend to get a lot of my non-fiction recs from podcasts. Not old. Got it 😉🤣 (I have a few more orbits around the sun than you, but I too insist the same 😚) 🦾 Blimey, that final book is a chonk 😮
I'm glad to hear you enjoy moments of non-fiction in videos. I never really know how they'll land, but I figure someone out there might enjoy it even if I mostly read fiction. It's a lot to keep up with! So many book recommendations, only so much time to read, and just when you make a plan, a booktuber drops a new book recommendation on you haha. @@KaysHiddenShelf I'll probably be picking up that Witcher book at some point. I read the short story collections which are set before that first novel and I'd planned on stopping there, but I liked the series enough where I'll likely continue on with the novels.
I really need to get rid of my Witcher editions and get that one--it's gorgeous! Epictetus's Discourses is I think among the best Stoic books; he's the one giving the most practical advice, less flourished than Aurelius; hope you enjoy and really looking forward to your thoughts on it! BTW, Exhalation's cover is gorgeous! Hyperion! I also got it but in the teeny tiny paperback, though. Happy birthday!

That's wonderful to hear about Epictetus's Discourses, thank you for sharing. Is there a smaller edition than the mass market paperback for Hyperion?
