    In current Yiddish, would it be offensive to use the female term for a profession? In English, most professions are neutral, and many find the use of female doctor or male nurse in poor taste. For English vocations that have male and female versions, like actor and actress, the use of one form to refer to both genders is preferred.

      I don't think so because gramatical gender is a normal part of the language vs in English it feels like you're going out of your way to switch to eg actress, stewardess
