JUST got my first striping kit a few weeks ago. Double-Fat-Singles are on lock down, getting into the MATH, throwing fert down, lawn journaling, and of course... dominating the neighbor (who gets True Green™ monthly and mows WAYYYYY too low). Still learning of course. Thanks for all info, tips, humor and regular vids!
200k!!!!!! Thanks for everything. My cousin runs his own lawn care business and he was surprised how good my lawn was looking today. Thanks from South California!!!
Fantastic video! Calculating your cost per 1,000 and realizing how many apps you get, which could be a couple of years worth in some cases, really puts the up front cost in perspective.
The LCN has really opened my eyes to proper lawn care and the difference between synthetic and organic fertiliser. I'm sold. It's been my experience that you have to throw down a lot of MILO. The bag rate just doesn't do it for my lawn, for a variety if reasons. I will aerate this fall and throw down a double dose in September and then late October if I can find it
Just wanted to thank you lawn care nut for all your help. My new home’s lawn was looking dead when I moved in and following your advice it has completely turned around into a pretty green and nice looking lawn. Just wish some brown spots would grown in some green grass. Your advice is priceless. Mow high every week water twice a week up to an inch and have fun putting down Milorganite!!!
I watch your videos because I myself am on a budget and your videos provide good tips on how to maintain a lawn with just good technique. I've always wondered what you would consider the bare minimum to put down/ spend to maintain a lawn.
I had TruGreen for a year and my backyard was overrun with Dallis Grass. That is why I'm DIYING now. Learning and enjoying the fruits from the knowledge.
So I have a little bitty yard, but I can tell ya that 36lbs/1000sf will work (milo)! Crazy, but works. And man does it smell good! On the plus side I'm like the only guy still thriving green in SE Mich from my early June throw down. After a good stretch in the 90's on the north side of the rust belt and every bit of lawn hunger and thirst shows up real quick, and let me tell you, it's showing everywhere around here. The cost of some of this stuff (milo) pales in comparison to the cost of water requirements a homeowner needs when committing to maintaining their turf to a high level of dominance. When budgeting DO NOT forget the cost to keep your lawn well hydrated. A human can go without food for about three weeks but would typically only last three to four days without water. Your lawn is not much different.
I built a nice spreadsheet where I enter the container price, container volume, and app rate and it calculates everything else, including how much to load in my 21Gal sprayer and total volume and price for any yard size applied to.
As always, great video. I just read the article in the Wall Street Journal that mentions you and other LCN’s. That was awesome to read! Congratulations on all the success you’ve made for yourself! I suggest your content to anyone who asks me what I do to make my lawn look so good. Thank you.
Well.. I have a 50,000 sq.ft. Plot. Minus the house and garage foot print, and trees, then around 48,000 sq. ft. This is my 1st year of using your suggested products. It's costing me a large amount for "green" to make that green, but I'm in SC and our rain is very off and on, and watering is limited for me. So far I've spent $250 between Milo and RGS package that I got from you. But I have to tell you, it's working. Thanks,LCN
True story - I bought 4 busted, partially filled bags of Milo yesterday from HD for a great deal and had to put it inside the car... My wife in the car with me said: "that doesn't smell like blueberry pie, it smells like someone who ate blueberry pie".
TruGreen does my neighbor's lawn across the street. I was digging out an old stump this spring when TruGreen came by to do the first app on the neighbor's lawn. One of the guys came over to give me a hard time about digging out the huge stump. One thing led to another and we got on the topic of pricing. I live in Central Wisconsin. For starters, he said they were doing an 8,000 SF app on the neighbor's land even though he thought it was closer to 12,000 or 13,000 SF just from walking it. I asked why he didn't change the app and he said it's all calculated back at the office which is computed from Google maps (or similar). Out of curiosity, I asked the gentleman for a rough price to do my lawn (even though I had zero intent to do that since I am following every one of Allyn's tips - working out terrifically btw). The guy asked me how big my lawn was - I immediately answered that it was 14,000 since I just measured it last year. He didn't believe me and gave me a price for a 10,000SF lawn and the cost was over $600 for the year. I can manage my lawn for less than $300 and I get the full applications it needs. Not to mention, my lawn looks twice as good as the neighbor's which is under TruGreen's care. Then I proceeded to put down some LCN signature double wide, double fat stripes before the TruGreen guys left.
Allyn, great video & congratulations on 200k subscribers! This is your style! Wanting people to understand the why's and how's of the things we do in the lawn. It only helps us all get better at dominating!
I use 18-3-3 (summer) and 25-0-05 (fall and spring) mostly, that way I only use about 3-4 lbs /1000 sq ft. It works bangarang. I also use 16s for the first application per year.
Well done! Math!! You must get the “it’s expensive” a lot! I’ve had to do a math break down for peeps more then I enjoy... (I’m a liar... I LOVE the math!) People get caught up in the initial cost, not understating the ROI ( great investing term), cost per application, concentration of active ingredient and how many applications can be applied. When the break down comes out, MOST of the time, the professional products are cheaper in those aspects. Thanks for your cost recap of diy lawn care! Amazing stuff Allyn!
I bought a brand new house and moved in about a month ago. Want to dominate for sure. I have 4 bags of Milo in the garage and waiting to throw it down, mowing Sundays and Wednesdays sometimes 3 times per week. Grass still growing in certain spots can't wait until a full coverage. Love it. Watching these videos and zipping my orange juice and Cointreau liquor at night its just freacking awesome. Have a Troy built tractor all the way raised up. Going nuts trying to figure out how I can raise it up bit more as the higher settings are 4 inches however think the builder had the lawn bit lower than side walk. Hate it want the grass higher. May have to throw some dirt over the winter to raise the grass nice and high next spring.. What you guys think? Or should I try to buy bigger tires?
Great video as always! Point of clarification: ROI has to include a RETURN, I.e., a profit. The ROI in this case is a question of how sweet does the lawn look for what amount of investment, or even how much does the home value increase because of the sweet lawn at what cost? That’s gonna be hard to calculate for sure. You drive a really good point here about the costs though, and guys and gals will have to figure out if their money is well spent or if they’re better off with a Frankenlawn
Good points made. I choked when I bought the prodiamine at $75 dollars a jug, but for my 1500 sq/ft chicago style postage stamp yard its a lifetime supply.
Hey Allyn. i planted my first lawn last year because i was waiting forever for the builder to quit dragging his tail. the so called "yard guru" of the neighborhood even asked me what i was doing to get the yard so thick and green. i turned him on to milo. now many people in the neighborhood actually compliment me on the yard.
I wish your book had the math numbers for the Green Punch cost per 1,000, because I'm not doing a 7,000 sqft lawn. I did some quick math and it's $3.375/1000, which is slightly higher than milo, but since it's easier to measure off liquid than granular, the 2 bags is a higher "overall" cost.
Honestly I love the math... im just about to kill off my lawn to get it ready and smooth it out alot and I've got 4 acres I can get started... but im starting small with 2000 sqft just to get the hang of this since this is my first ever actual lawn with a certain grass and actually getting into the math of it all... so thank you for these math episodes!!
Planned out my whole year of lawn care thinking I had a 5000 sq ft lawn. Measured today and to my astonishment, I have a 7000 sq ft lawn. Fast forward a few hours and LCN has a breakdown of a DIY 7000 sq ft lawn. Funny how things come together.
Cracking video as always Alan and I can't believe how green your lawn is as here in England everything is scorched and looks like the mid west as we haven't had significant rain for several weeks and face a hosepipe ban into August
I just did I all of this math for my 3100sf yard. I had Allyn in my head the whole time “that’s good math!” I realized that all of the stuff I want to get (Bio stim, pre emerg, etc...) will last me a few seasons which is great. I guess the big ? is what is the “shelf life” of these products. Allyn maybe an idea for a video. Thanks for all you do and congrats on 200k.
Great video. I do have a question though. I have approximately 1200 square foot of grass in my backyard and that is it. All the products you show in your video will treat my yard for years to come. So my question is what is the shelf life on these products. Well heat shortening the shelf life? Does cold shorten the shelf life? All this must be taken into consideration when purchasing these products and the cost of using them.
Weed killers are nice but they are not everything. A lawn with lots of weeds and noxious grasses is endemic of other problems, primarily Ph. When we moved here 12 years ago I brought with me pleanty of plugs of st. Augustine grass from my former home in South Georgia. I also planted new azaleas, gardenias, dogwoods and similar plants that I had at my former home. After a few months I had a yard full of sticks and my st. Augustine was hanging on by its fingernails. After 10 years I only had one spot where my st. Augustine still existed and it was up next to my brick foundation. That was the time I ran a Ph test on my yard. The vial came out a deep brown. Then, I knew what the problem was -acidic soil. I started lacing my yard with dolomite lime at the highest setting on my rotary spreader. I have put close to 2,000# on my half acre since then. I guess the original Ph in my yard was under 4.0. Now, it is close to 7.0 and I have grass growing everywhere. I rolled the yard today with two bags of lime and one bag of 10-10-10. I would have rolled it with Milo but nobody has any. My st Augustine is spread in out in the back yard and I have Bermuda and fescue in the rest. I think 90% of the problems that folks have in their yards is due to a low Ph. Fescue requires a Ph of at least 6.0, Bermuda 6.5 and st. Augustine over 6.5. Centiped, the grass on most of the yards near me, requires a Ph of 4.5, minimum. Check that first and if the vial is not at least yellow, lime it until you get it green colored. I do not care about the other tests, just the Ph. I can adjust the other values by my choice of ferterlizer and suplements.
Allyn , this video is informative as usual. Can’t wait to your meet up with Connor Ward in the next 300 days or less. Two informative and interesting people in lawn care exchanging ideas about lawn domination and Flamingos on the lawn.
First thing I do when LCN publishes a new vid... Check for how long it is! This determines the amount of drink, and type of cigar I will enjoy. For tonight's 20 min vid we are going all out! 😁😁😁
The Lawn Care Nut not to change the subject, but is it okay to use weed killer and liquid fertilizers in the same sprayer? Or should I use separate sprayers, one for weed killer and one for RGS?
Dimension ~$38 per application per acre. This Pre emergent is the longest lasting out there. If you drop this down in March, more than likely you are good for the year. Scotts Turf Bulder $39 for 15,000 Sq ft so 3 bags per acre Tenacity ~1 Acre Treatment $20 kills just about every weed you will have in a lawn without killing your turf and is all around an amazing product. Honesty, these 3 things are really all you need. I would say no more than $175 bucks a year on your ACRE. Not only that, you are using high quality products. Both Tenacity and Dimension are both commercial products. If you have less than an acre the prices goes down considerably. I do like MILO, but the bang for buck isn't there for me.
Allyn, thanks for taking the time to calculate the costs for those various treatments. Sticker Shock is real when you're a new DIY'er. IMO, you skipped one of the most important tip, which is your PreM application. Proper mowing and PreM app are going to be some of the best cultural practices a new DIY'er can do. Great job with explaining how the cost of GreenePunch isn't that much off of an app of Milo. Great looking beard sir.
Thank you LCN. I love your videos. I never EVER cared about my lawn before and I am now gearing up for a major overseed in late August. Question - Herbicide shelf life. I have a small lawn. Roughly 2000 square feet. Using your Blindside calculation - One bottle covers roughly 35,000 Square feet. If I applied Blindside two times a year - 35,000 divided by 2000 equals 17.5 Using my lawn as an example, I could use Blindside 17.5 times. Applied twice a year it would take 8.75 years to finish a bottle. Does this stuff last that long?
I have over 1.5 acres but my house and driveway come out of that. I need to measure how much lawn I actually have. I have had a national lawn care company do my lawn for the past 4 years and the results are VERY mediocre. They have killed bushes and two small spruce trees and I pay over $1000 a year for 7 applications. I’m going to do this myself but I hope the cost isn’t crazy high for sure!
Timely video, as I’ve had these thoughts on my mind. Milo cost has never been bad for me in the Midwest, but weed control adds up quick (and is confusing with all the chemical names and brand names).
Great video as always! My lawn is rough 7k so this was spot on. I didn't do the math so I used bag-rate and threw down 3.5 bags of milo and my overlapping was a bit off,but it was late and a few landshark later 😂. My st.aug is going to love me 👌 keep up the sweet content!
Okay Allyn, decided to take full control of my lawn this fall. Downloaded and read my Cool Weather lawn guide, bought my journal to keep track of treatments, and planning out my attack to dominate. One question: I currently have TruGreen treating my lawn thru the end of the year. Should I wait until spring to start or will my work not have an affect on my TruGreen service? Thanks! And enjoy the mow!
I bet TruGreen (AKA Chemlawn) is cheaper than the recommend DIY approach, however, I doubt they care for the lawn nor apply the same quality products. When I lived in the North East I had TruGreen care for my lawn starting my second summer I was there. I had this lawn looking beautiful, but started traveling a lot for the job. They ruined all my hard work and I had to start from scratch... I ended up firing them and taking over... hence why I subscribe to this channel.
Thanks for videos! working on buying my first house in Mid Michigan. I have watched a ton of your stuff. Thanks and I cant wait to have my own domination soon!
Nice job on the explanations. On the 18-0-1 at $108.00, I thought it was only for a one gallon bottle not four gallons. That makes me feel better. I have a 20K lawn, so I have to keep a eye on my application cost for different products. No, I am not a spy! LOL
That is SOOOO freaking weird. I was just listening to that Bob Marley song this afternoon just before I went out to mow. I haven't listened to that album in years, but today, I put it on. Kooky!
How about equipment costs? Getting a decent spreader and sprayer is going to run about $200 which should be factored in for those who are really trying to figure out their RoI.
Being in Western Washington, I'm having a VERY DIFFICULT time trying to find a "blog" for DIY Lawncare that fits MY NEEDS...😥 All I'm finding is, how to Get Rid Of Moss. I say, AERATE, DETHATCH, RAKE IT OUT & AMEND SOIL! We have alot of CLAY! But we also have a BUNCH of "Nasty Weeds" such as -SHOTWEED- that has been impervious to anything I have thrown at it. I "would" just pull it at Blossom, but, I have a REALLY BAD BACK, so bending down to physically pull weeds, IS OUT OF QUESTION! If you POSSIBLY have any recommendations or information to assist my lawn to be the "NEIGHBORHOOD KING", I'm all eyes & ears! Take care, -🤓 Washington State (Zone 8B)
Been watching your videos lately and they have lit a fire in me too spruce up the yard a bit! Just picked up my first ever bags of milorganite haha wasn’t expecting the smell through the bag... Excited to throw it down!!
Thanks for doing this Al. I really wanted to know that ROI on the new next punch. I'm considering adding it to next year's program. Since Milo is heat activated I want to use it as my first wake up application, instead Milo. I always felt although generally beneficial, it's early to put down Milo in March. I have cool season fescue in NY
I was at Lowes tonight and they had Milo in stock so I bought 5 bags. The guy that helped me load it up said in the last month they have been having a lot of customers coming in and asking for Milorganite if I could tell him why?? I told him about your channel on RUclips and he said he was going to go watch it when he got home and when I told him some of the benefits he said he was going to start recommending it :) lol. I am in the Miami part of the state so I guess you have a bit of an audience down here - so darn, I thought I had you all to myself lol. I do have a question if I may - I saw the Scotts Bonus S and the Bayer Souther Weed and Feed for St Aug grass. I ordered a bottle of Blindside, If I put that down, can I fertilize with Milorganite close to throwing down the Blindside to mimic thier weed & feed scenario? Thanks, from Peter, see you in the lawn-run :)
Can u go over what tee jet nozzles to use for blanket spraying prodiamine, for blanket spraying herbicide I have 58,000 tall fescue and only a Flowzone typhoon. No lawnmower or ATV to mount a larger tank. Thanks!!!
The biggest problem for my ROI is that my time isn't free. And so, as valuable as my time is, because of opportunity cost, DIY for mowing and applications will never be nearly as cheap as hiring someone. On the other hand, I think it'd be difficult to find someone who will do things to a standard that I'd be satisfied with, and there's some value in the pride one gets by doing a good job oneself. I'm hoping that once I get things good enough, at least the work required will decrease a bit. I spy Connor Ward pink flamingos--how long have those been there?
This was good. Thanks for the quick math. The run down makes it actually affordable, lawn looks fab with the spray down man!..... please can someone fill me in where to find to map my lawn site? I know u had it in a vid befor.
Not bad at all for a small lawn but mine is 6 acres in total. Just my front yard is ~70,000 sq/ft(~1.75) acres. Any suggestions for a large scale lawn?
Hi Allyn, I am missing my Milo thrower down!!!. We have not had Milo here in the Horsham, PA 19044 area for a couple months now. It's not in stock at Home Depot or Lowe's and they have no clue about the next availability status of Milo. Do you have any updates on Milo availability or source suggestions? Although we can get it on Amazon for $29.98 + free shipping, that is more than double the usual price. Missing the smell of success! Thanks, Greg
Very good video Sir, I live in Titusville FL on 1.2 acres 42,000sq/ft grass. So per year cost, DIY is (mylow 42x 3.33, blindside 42x 2.96, fungicide 42x1.47, 18-0-1 42x 3.38) = $567.91 x 6 applications = $2,807.47 yearly plus labor. my question is would it be more cost effective to have a pro company? unable to download your guide
Come on Allyn, make a spreadsheet where we can plug in our lawn size, cost for what we are applying, application rate, etc. and send it out with the weekly newsletter. That would be the bomb. Maybe a subscriber could help with it if you can’t do it. That would be throwin’ down the math!
Great video and explanation. Two questions, with milo use what do you use if your lawn is low in potassium? Do you still use starter fert for that? Second, love your reggae music in your videos. What’s your favorite reggae band?
Just bought my first home in north west Kentucky. My yard is a salad garden of everything, mostly creeping Charlie, Bermuda, and fescue. I'm going to kill it and replant ky bluegrass soon. Would you use milorganite, starter fert, or rgs to start off the seedlings?
Maryland folks, you can't just "throw it down". Maryland Department of Agriculture limits how much N you can put down annually, per application, and there are blackout dates. Proceed with caution.
Love the channel Allyn! Random question but can you tell me the dimensions of your garage? I’m thinking of building a shed and wanted to get an idea how big your garage is. Thanks!
Is there any lawn care software you use to manage your business? I've seen a few online but not sure if to go with one of them or to do it myself, which is what I have been doing until now.
My issue with using a company is we have different goals, mine is a beautiful and healthy landscape and theirs is profit. You should do a vid showing their cost to do a lawn and how much product they figure into their math I think you’ll see people aren’t getting what their paying for. My neighbor using a company and has for a couple years now and their lawn looks like crap where mine clearly dominates so what the hell are they spraying on my neighbors lawn?
So how would you work in the Greenpunch to a program where you are already using Milo ~1x every 4 weeks? Do you replace a round of Milo with GP instead? Do you throw down both at the same time or off set them by 2 weeks?
ok just a minor question. ok when mapping the lawn if you have a section that is 255 SQ ft curb strip and a 1,133 sq foot section. Do you calculate both into one app or calculate the 225 seperate from the 1,133 Section?? also since the milo is hard to find in my area. are you going to test the and Do a video with the 18-0-1 and a test regiment??
Great video! Made sure my wife could hear it so she understands I’m not putting us in the poor house! Congratulations on the 200k subs. Question, can you share your ebooks through your Facebook group? They come in a better format that way to save to iBooks. Thanks!
Watching your videos as a Canadian feelsbadman. I can't get anything up here. Merica' has us beat by a mile when it comes to what you have access to. Still enjoying it though!!
Enjoy the videos - thank you. I am a RUclipsr too, so I know what it takes to make them :) Not sure exactly how to phrase this but there is a battle in my mind to "wanna be like you" and "wanna dump the gas mower products". I see you have an electric in the garage but you focus on the gas mowers. I want to phase out of that at my age, but i also want to do what you do. My hope is that you focus a little more on the electrics, from the EGO to the Ryobi rider mower (my age, remember?? :) Back to the thanks - I feel proud to see people succeed on RUclips so thanks for being an inspiration in more ways than one with your RUclips "business"! :)
Need help I spayed my lawn with 24D 6 weeks ago and reseeded 2 weeks afther and put down milorgnite. It has been 4 weeks and the grass still not growing and looks like I got a dirt lot. What should I do
Hey LCN! New Sub here. I have watched a TON of your videos in the past 3 days. I'm up in Idaho and currently dealing with an ugly lawn. Had my house built and they did sod in the front yard and no grass in the back yard. So my sod was doing fine in spring... But is now very yellow/brown in the middle, but green on all the edges -_- Anyways, I am now starting with the restoration process following your tips. However, I get lost easily. And it made me think, there would be a GREAT video you could make for people like me. I think it would be super helpful if you had some form of list of what are "Throw'er down" products and what aren't. And when is okay to "Throw'er down" and when isn't! A video like that would be awesome. And I bet you already have one, or talk about that in a lot of your videos. It's just hard to find :P
This was very helpful!
I had thought bag rate was the cost of alimony to my ex.
Wayne Essar As a recently divorced guy..... That's funny!!! 😂
JUST got my first striping kit a few weeks ago. I truly understand that having a lawn book is crucial for total domination and my sanity! Excellent video!

Swig & Smoke BBQ right!

Very helpful. I learned real quick that taking care of the lawn became $$$ real quick. So I adjusted as needed and lawn still looks great. Thanks LCN
Great video! Seeing the ROI on most of those products makes it a lot easier for me to justify the cost. Looking forward to your guide on Tuesday!

Amazing stuff Allyn!
I signed up and received the email, but the guide for DIY vs Prof. wasn't on the email.
Milo is $16/bag in Idaho. However, I buy some products during the winter months to offset the summer costs.
Good points made. I choked when I bought the prodiamine at $75 dollars a jug, but for my 1500 sq/ft chicago style postage stamp yard its a lifetime supply.
exactly
Hey Allyn. i planted my first lawn last year because i was waiting forever for the builder to quit dragging his tail. the so called "yard guru" of the neighborhood even asked me what i was doing to get the yard so thick and green. i turned him on to milo. now many people in the neighborhood actually compliment me on the yard.
I asked true green for a weak control plan at my house it was over $6600 a year. A total of 6 treatments.
I knew what you needed!
Cracking video as always Alan and I can't believe how green your lawn is as here in England everything is scorched and looks like the mid west as we haven't had significant rain for several weeks and face a hosepipe ban into August
Listen pal... You can dial up or down any product you want if you're a lawn rebel cowboy.
Dang ,Connor you told him ,Dang🤣😂
Dial up some blindside on your lawn next week. See what happens
Ha ha. Nice try. You almost got me. Nice video. Thanks for laying out the costs. Quite useful for sure.
Thanks for all you do and congrats on 200k.
thanks bro! and yes, Next stuff will keep for a couple years - keep it closed and out of direct sun
that's the idea!
LawnCareDad I
Cut that kuba kuba, crack that IPA and enjoy!
San Lotano oval and Buchanan's on the rocks for me
The Lawn Care Nut not to change the subject, but is it okay to use weed killer and liquid fertilizers in the same sprayer? Or should I use separate sprayers, one for weed killer and one for RGS?
Dimension ~$38 per application per acre. This Pre emergent is the longest lasting out there. If you drop this down in March, more than likely you are good for the year.
Scotts Turf Bulder $39 for 15,000 Sq ft so 3 bags per acre
Tenacity ~1 Acre Treatment $20 kills just about every weed you will have in a lawn without killing your turf and is all around an amazing product.
Can't deny you're sweet dance moves Alan keep it up you're yard is looking great 😊
Allyn, thanks for taking the time to calculate the costs for those various treatments.

If I applied Blindside two times a year - 35,000 divided by 2000 equals 17.5
Using my lawn as an example, I could use Blindside 17.5 times.
Like the way you worked the Flamingos into the video.
Thanks for videos! working on buying my first house in Mid Michigan. I have watched a ton of your stuff. Thanks and I cant wait to have my own domination soon!
Nice video! You should make a video on most funguses in the lawn and how to prevent/treat them for cool and warm season lawns.
Getting Milo for anywhere from $10-$16 a bag here in OK. Great video. Can't wait for the guide. Congrats on 200k too!
Just did out the math Im going to need about 7-10 bags of milo to do one app on my yard depending on feed rate. Its going to be a busy day tomorrow!
Being in Western Washington, I'm having a VERY DIFFICULT time trying to find a "blog" for DIY Lawncare that fits MY NEEDS...😥
All I'm finding is, how to Get Rid Of Moss.
Take care,
-🤓 Washington State

Been watching your videos lately and they have lit a fire in me too spruce up the yard a bit! Just picked up my first ever bags of milorganite haha wasn’t expecting the smell through the bag... Excited to throw it down!!
Thanks for doing this Al. I really wanted to know that ROI on the new next punch. I'm considering adding it to next year's program. Since Milo is heat activated I want to use it as my first wake up application, instead Milo. I always felt although generally beneficial, it's early to put down Milo in March. I have cool season fescue in NY
LCN this video was next level! Thanks for taking the time to educate us and help us grasp these concepts. Great perspective on ROI!!
We have guys come spray out lawn to. But that's all we have them do. Only 3 times a year. I do the rest of the work. Still have to weed sometimes.
Can u go over what tee jet nozzles to use for blanket spraying prodiamine, for blanket spraying herbicide
I have 58,000 tall fescue and only a Flowzone typhoon.
We are getting milo for 6 to 7 dollars a bag. In northern MN. So are throw down game is strong.

Grammar police , grammar police 👮♀️
Good lawdy! It's twice that price down here in Orlando.
John Eggert at least you have it!
Southern MN - Milo 36# is $7.49 at Fleet Farm, $12.97 at Lowes across the street.
You just started walking by your edging and I thought “dude those edges” then you mentioned it. Hah, you are growing on me!! Love the videos.
Craig Wavra ya
This was good. Thanks for the quick math. The run down makes it actually affordable, lawn looks fab with the spray down man!..... please can someone fill me in where to find to map my lawn site? I know u had it in a vid befor.
Man I can't wait till I can cut my weeds.... can't even say grass. Hopefully I'll get started in September 😞
I might try to make one, if you're still interested 2 years later. Lol
Didn't anyone want to comment on Allyn's reggae dance skills? That alone kept me engaged for 10-20 seconds! Great info here Mr. Lawn Care Nut.
Great video and explanation. Two questions, with milo use what do you use if your lawn is low in potassium? Do you still use starter fert for that? Second, love your reggae music in your videos. What’s your favorite reggae band?
If you need potash, use Ringer Lawn Restore. Bob is my favorite, always.
Can you do a Frankenlawn update? I've been wondering how it looks these days. Thanks
That Chant down Babylon. One of my favorite chill cds.
Love the channel Allyn! Random question but can you tell me the dimensions of your garage? I’m thinking of building a shed and wanted to get an idea how big your garage is. Thanks!
Like these videos alot more than some of your others. I'm interested in the lawn care...not so much the cigars and craft beer🇺🇸
Do you have a "map out your property" video? I'll go look, but if so, can you link in the description box for reference, please?
Always be learning! Congrats on 200k subs!
This really helped me out a lot, also congratulations on 200k 👍🏽
Is there any lawn care software you use to manage your business? I've seen a few online but not sure if to go with one of them or to do it myself, which is what I have been doing until now.
My issue with using a company is we have different goals, mine is a beautiful and healthy landscape and theirs is profit. You should do a vid showing their cost to do a lawn and how much product they figure into their math I think you’ll see people aren’t getting what their paying for. My neighbor using a company and has for a couple years now and their lawn looks like crap where mine clearly dominates so what the hell are they spraying on my neighbors lawn?
Hey! Congrats allyn. So close to 200k subs!! You have one of the best lawn care channels on RUclips! Keep the hustle up!!
thanks brother.
Not one of the best,THE BEST!!!
It’s Sunday night and once again Allyn has taken me to church!
So how would you work in the Greenpunch to a program where you are already using Milo ~1x every 4 weeks? Do you replace a round of Milo with GP instead? Do you throw down both at the same time or off set them by 2 weeks?
Congratulations on 200K subscribers!!!!!!
ok just a minor question. ok when mapping the lawn if you have a section that is 255 SQ ft curb strip and a 1,133 sq foot section.
Thanks!
EPIC, EPIC, EPIC Info, Man! Great Job! As Always!
Watching your videos as a Canadian feelsbadman. I can't get anything up here. Merica' has us beat by a mile when it comes to what you have access to. Still enjoying it though!!
I dyed my grass blue and my neighbours filed a noise complaint because of it. Atleast i dominated their lawn!
x 420 mwahahaha😈😈😈
But is now very yellow/brown in the middle, but green on all the edges -_-
Anyways, I am now starting with the restoration process following your tips.
What is the shelf life of the herbicides ? I have a 2500 sq ft lawn and worried that an herbicide would lose potency as it ages.
I wish we had that much rain ☔ that often here in south Texas 🌞. Lol
Electric Cuts
South tx here also.
Top shelf info sir. Thank you!
I would like to make DIY sing for my lawn like true green and put it down after my applications
