I assume it's controlled with just one arm-paw because all the bears are huge procrastinators and start preparing for hibernation way too late every year, by the time they're already supposed to be sleeping and their bodies are barely functioning, resting on the car seats with just one paw and the mouth still operational.
Actually, considering the fuel gauge also indicates the bear's satiation, they might also just be horrible, bio-mechanical spliced bear-car abominations and not just chilling on the seats.
This is what happens when science goes too far, and we end up trying to graft the upper half of a bear into the drivers seat to be your personal chauffeur. Then they go and escape out into the wild, and this is what happens. Wild bear-vehicles getting in hit and run accidents trying to fatten up before hibernation. Good job, science.
