I actually love how Lightning Arrow works in this game but also woulda liked to see it be like how Hellzone is triggered. Maybe one day we'll get Uub in Super properly so we can have that as a character
Honestly, I always felt that losing the ability to regenerate like Majin Buu upon fusing for more power was a horrible trade off. I can’t imagine why you would ever want to give that up.
I'm pretty sure the volley in the anime was also that turquoise color so props to them for getting it right. I just wish it was fired a little closer to the anime too
Funny how Sean Michael Teague came back to voice Uub in the "Goku's Next Journey" dlc in "Kakarot" then a year later Zeno Robinson takes over the role in this game.
@@luckynarutostar123From what I've seen, Teague seems to be a bit on and off when it comes to voice acting, looking at his list of roles and the years they're listed. Did a fair amount in the early 2010s, then seemingly stopped by 2015 aside from Uub in Kakarot DLC and Koenma for the Yu Yu Hakusho OVA about a year or so ago. He didn't reprise Uub for Xenoverse 2 either, so I can only assume he just choose to move away from voice acting and occasionally comes back when available.
Lightning Arrow stylistically was one of my favourite ultimates in BT3, even if it sucked. Wish they just fixed it and led into that cutscene like you had proposed in the video.
I still think normal Uub is better. Would it have killed them to let him keep his Kamehameha? The volley attacks in this game kinda suck anyway. Though I will say, It's nice to see lightning arrow actually hit something for once.
Turning his opponent into chocolate was totally needed! There was absolute no way he could've kicked him otherwise! Edit: Oh, you mentioned how stupid that was. Good! But I should really watch videos to the end before commenting.
I feel like Uub suffered quite heavily from the "lets stick with BT3" mentality. His transformation *really* needed an animation, especially with how all major villains minus Jiren and Baby get pretty fancy animations when transforming. They even found a way to make it snappy with Cell and Super Buu, so there is no reason to have him go "Buu, I need your help", then Buu flies in and they fuse. Also, Lightning Arrow got "fixed" because the devs absolutely knew how trash that move was in BT3, but now it is alot less unique. If it were for me, the ult would start with a barrage and regardless of hitting or missing, it goes to the tornado part that fires a beam. However, you can still dodge the beam afterwards. So an attack in two parts. It would make it alot more unique.
To be fair, in GT it happened because of Boo just sort of appearing to Oob and becoming sparkles with pieces of his body being absorbed into the skin. I don't know how one can make that into a transformation that fits the context of the fight. Really, maybe it's just time for Majuub to be a separate selectable character like Super Perfect Cell is now.
@@edogawaconan945 With Boo, that's a bit different. There we have an actual transformation that can work since Boo basically just sends part of his body towards someone, they get absorbed and then they fly back to him. With Oob, it's not the same deal. My point still stands that maybe they should just make him a separate character and thus avoid the issue of the transformation animation.
Not much different but hey at least Lightning Arrow works now, though it probably would’ve been better if it was a projectile into a cutscene like Hellzone Grenade. I really enjoy Zeno Robinson’s work as Uub here, would like to hear him voice him again should the anime ever continue and bring him back to the series proper.
His Base Form SEW being THAT slow and having no cutscene on impact is actually so bad. SEW Ultimates CAN be made into unblockables, even if they aren't, but Uub's working like that is basically useless. The enemy has enough time to either recover or Explosive Wave/Barrier out of the Hard Knockdown on Aerial Rush. Him powering up as a transformation is inexcusable at this point. They got Janemba's one right, down to him going from yellow clay to purple. Besides that, he is mostly average. On a non-gameplay related note, I do miss his original voice. It felt really good with that pronounced accent, very authentic...
lightning arrow feels like the only stand out. this game's consistent lack of proper impact really shows in blazing barrage palm, i didn't think the original version was amazing but it had a strong kick to it that's just not here, it feels kinda slow.
Oh Uub; the poster child of missed opportunities for years now. Maybe one day they'll do something cool with you. Oh, his moveset here is definitely nothing great. Majuub at least has a proper ultimate, though I am confused on how the spiraling shots become a beam of a different color and all.
I love what they did with Lightning Arrow, but man Base Oob was done dirty Blazing Barrage Palm should’ve been 1:1 with Tenkaichi 3 and Lightning Impact (the move they gave Majoob in Xenoverse 2) is right there for Base Oob’s ultimate. Instead we’re stuck with a boring Super Explosive Wave. Also since iirc in GT it was a Kamehameha that Oob used to try and turn Bebi Vegeta into chocolate, why not add that as a move here instead of regular chocolate beam?
I'm with you. Sometimes it really feels like they're mimicking the old Tenkaichi moveset because it's the Tenkaichi thing to do rather than looking at things like the Budokai games, Xenoverse, Fighterz, Legends and basically anything else that has come out since for was meaningful ways to improve these movesets. Oob should be: -Kamehameha -The original Blazing Barrage Palm -Lightning Impact/Quake Blast from Xenoverse 2 and Dokkan Majin Oob is better but: -His chocolate beam should definitely be the Chocolate Kamehameha instead -His consecutive energy blast should be fired with two hands like in the show -His Lightning Arrow is perfect
@@indieoddjobs4766 it's weird because some characters move sets have been upgraded from their old counterparts but then some stuff randomly looks worse, I'd say the supers and ults for the most part look better than tenkaichi 3 but not quite as good as RB2. They also updated the move sets of some characters to cut the stock moves but then others are stuck with the full power energy volley and super explosive waves
Lightning Arrow at least got a huge glow up over it's BT3 version where it was probably one of the worst Ultimates in the game. Also, weird thing with the volly, is that his volly in the show DID change color and wasn't pink for some reason, but it wasn't this weird green color, it was more of a blue. Not sure WHY they went with that though, Majuub has other attacks besides that one.
I don't know why they removed the Goku throw from Uub's rush. Also, I was hoping they fixed the transformation scene for MajUub. I wish Sparking Zero did what the original Budokai series did and changed the characters once they get defeated, like with Mecha-Frieza and Majin Vegeta. That would make a lot more sense with MajUub. At least Lightning Arrow improved. It was right from the show.
I think they did Majin Oob well. His volley attack is like in the anime where his aura turned blue before attacking. A nice touch if anything. Regular Oob kinda underwhelming. They couldn't pick anything from his fight against Goku from the first episode? I recall the fight against Baby being pretty good so I hoped some rush attack from that fight was part of his moveset. Oh well...
The rush is from his tournament battle with Goku I believe. And its a darn shame they still messed up his transformation. He's supposed to fuse with Buu.
bro uub can be super op dont forget that with enough training he could potentially blow up planets like buu or if he feeling mad that day turn people into chocolate then eat them it took everyone in the world to defeat him and that wasn't even fully enough with a single ki blast he destroyed planets not planet planets he is on this might be a bit of a hotake but he's maybe on like atleats 1 percent of beerus power if he was trained by goku hed be super strong

Honestly, I always felt that losing the ability to regenerate like Majin Buu upon fusing for more power was a horrible trade off. I can’t imagine why you would ever want to give that up.
He was born in a human body it couldn't be done. He absorbed Buu, he didn't become him
Proof dragon ball fans don’t understand absorption and fusing. Think about the Namekians and Cell
Buu's magic abilities are too overpowered. For the same reason he was sleeping for entire Super. They clearly didn't know how to handle his character.
I'm pretty sure the volley in the anime was also that turquoise color so props to them for getting it right. I just wish it was fired a little closer to the anime too
Really weird that in a game this detailed how Uub still gets so little love, outside of that ultimate; that animation is awesome.
Bro is mad bc ubb kicks the chocolate when in bt3 he stomps and kicks the chocolate

Majuub: Super Kamehameha, Chocolate Beam, Lighting Arrow
