It's nice to come across a video that introduced you to a channel; in this case, this started it all for me with your channel :D Anyways, there's some things I wish I had mentioned in hindsight: • The "crest" in the front of the plane is actually the logo for UZAVIALEASING, an Uzbek company that once offered TAPOiCh-made planes for lease. • For this one, I'll give Herpa some slack: At the time this model was made, ONLY FIVE IL-76s (including the first two IL-76TD-90 aircraft) lack the characteristic "chin" radome on the lower part of the nose, incl. the real plane this one is replicating; the radome houses the KP-2 ground mapping radar. Herpa would probably have to invest more in a separate mould for such planes, and I doubt they would have been inclined to. But that's just me... Nevertheless, I think that this would make a good model for a cargo collection, especially for Leipzig, which SW flies into occasionally.
FYI, maybe you don't know: The early IL-76 from Herpa had a different mould: The horizontal stabilizer and the fuselage were one part (for example: Herpa's "East Line"), here the horizontal stabilizer and the fuselage are two pieces.
man ive wish i had an IL-76 herpa wings, its very expensive here not gonna lie. i have many diecast but its boring without some russians aircraft like the candid ( IL-76 ).
Something to think about; the photo of the Silk Way Il-76 printed on the model box is registered as 4K-AZ55, not 4K-AZ41. Now not only is the registration different from the model, but the said plane was also involved in an incident near Bagram in 2011 killing all 9 onboard.

Thanks for the support and the fascinating information about the aircraft 👍

I was not aware but it sound quite interesting. If I should ever get an older IL-76 model I'll be sure to look for this difference 👍
