Nice speech! The thing that I love about open source software is that each new update (almost) always makes it better. New features, bugfixes, compatibility fixes etc. Nowadays when a commercial website or application updates, I'm always wondering "what feature have they moved behind a paywall?"
@@L9MN4sTCUk Depends. Often they don't get paid, but other times they get paid to do things like offer support, pre-compile binaries, add requested features etc. For example Mozilla gets most of its money by including Google as a default search engine.
