Its kinda mind blowing how good the engineering on these figures has come over the years. Imagine being a kid in 1986, after having just watched the movie to see what new versions of characters we would get, and then someone from the future showed you a picture of this.
A kid from 1986 gets out of the movie and someone hands them SS86 Hot Rod and SS86 Optimus Prime. Mind blowing

I like how the robot mode head is inside the combine mode head. It's indictative of the old G1 combiners where you put the combine mode head over the robot mode head like a helmet.
Personal preference: I dig the extra bulkiness. I am very hopeful/excited for Ocular Max to potentially do most, if not all, of the combiners.
I have the G2 colors Assaultus set-it’s amazing. Great shelf presence and the combiner mode is ROCK solid.
Certain other combiners I have are in poses where their arms hang limply at their sides. Not the Assaultus-he’s still holding his guns pointed out like when I originally posed him over a year ago.
Would you say you…. like the thickness of the Ignis?
But seriously, the All Built In series may be the coolest thing going on in this hobby, and that’s saying something. I have Assaultus and can’t wait to see what they do next…even if I can’t afford it.

This guy is astounding. The fact they make all of his modes work at all and there's not 5 billion little panels to fold/unfold. It's not a nightmare transformation. MMC is definitely my favorite 3P company, their Combaticons set is one of the highlights of my collection.

Those little tabs at 20:34 are to hold the "collar" in place if you do the toy mode for the combiner.

The small tabs are to give Defensor a collar, you'll find notches or slots on the shoulder nearby either side of the combine mode head.
Hey Emgo, Groove is due early November (delayed from October). They’ve also shown Blades in colour so I suspect he will be released Q1 next year

There's a 2nd configuration where you can swing the collar around the head to replicate the design of the G1 toy where the head is on the base of the ladder, the little hooks is for keeping the collar in place

I'm inexplicably delighted by how the 'bot mode head is stored in the combiner head and how it deployed.
Very nice altmode.looks great, in vehicle mode. First Aid looks out of place with the blue windows. I really like that Hot Spot's head comes out of the combined mode head, nice transformation.
Hotspot's head being _inside_ Defensor's head is kinda mind blowing (pun intended)
Head mechanics look great, as do robot mode and vehicle mode too. When we get combiners that are perfect like this, without extra parts to form the huge robot, that's when we're approaching perfection folks.
MMC's Combaticons set is beyond perfect, I spent so much money on them but I have a perfect Bruticus and this set looks to be just as good. I STILL marvel at the engineering they did to have the combined mode parts incorporated into the actual figures.
Wait, Are you tell me that there is a goofy configuration with the big head on the tiny robot mode????
Waiting (hoping) for a G2 version of these guys has been agonizing. Really tempted to get in on the G1 versions...

Sure
Something I've always wondered but always forgotten to ask is, do you film everything sequentially or do you try to minimize how often you transform the figure? Obviously for the mainline stuff it doesn't matter since it takes like 30 seconds to transform, but for those ultra complex 3rd party ones that take a good 10-20 minutes or the ones with pure nightmare transformations it could be quite annoying transforming it more than you technically need.

You missed something, the ladder housing can flip up to make a popped collar for his combined mode. It's how I keep him.

if theirs any combiner i like that would consider to be my favorite would be the Terrorcons of the Decepticons like Abominus to be my favorite combiner
Double wheels up front are kinda odd.
They make a lot more sense to be in the back.

This is a nice figure but very chunky, part of being an all inclusive combiner
Im glad that they are actually using the main robot as an actual body part and not just a shell fill in. Don't get me wrong the other combiners (Superion) that are doing this don't look bad at all visually but what is the point of having five bots that combine into one if the main bot doesn't even combine with them and he could just about be a stand alone bot next to the combined mode. This one looks like its gonna look amazing.
