I remember the Waikaraka Park Stockcar pit stop being on the right hand side of the grandstand, back in the late 1960s when I first started going there. And the stockcars with different bodyshells. The production saloons cars were Vauxhalls, Ford Zephyrs, and some FJ Holdens.
@@c-westsgaragenz I visited the track from 1967 through to 1975. I kept the programs that would have the nights racing in them plus photos of the cars. I don't know what happened to them. I also remember a rollie pollie car that would come out between races and the driver would try to roll the car. It was entertaining. I went to the first demolition derby held in New Zealand at the track in 1974 I think?. A driver entered a 1970s Jaguar XJ6 into it. The car got demolished.
