It's not the IDE that bothers me, but all the gibberish you yave to write to accomplish trivial tasks. Sit on the shoulders of the giants they say, right.
Back in High School like 10 years ago I made a cursor maze game that used mouse-over hotlinks between slides. It had moving obstacles and a really cool dark maze where the cursor emitted light.
I used the same logic to recreate the scary maze Game back in 6th grade, but instead of the scary green goblin popping up it's Rick Astley since I'm a nice guy
I love how the old cartoon footage is not only a funky ghost to go along with the music, but also implies you're doing some sort of dark prohibited conjuring by coding snake in PPoint
I see no downsides to this approach… Code reviews will not only be awesome due to extended code styling. You could even add some animations, memes (of course) and interactive stuff to have fun technical presentations with your coworkers. Onboarding new members will work like a charm. They will be that flashed, they might not even recognize how shitty both your code and techstack is! I mean you do not even need to use vcs. Just throw the pptx onto your sharepoint. And you will not ever even face merge conflicts any more, since everyone will collaborate in realtime. This idea has so much potential! Add a CI/CD integration such as a sharepoint package & container registry and I‘m in.
The non-monotype font. The grammar check squiggles. The center-aligned text. The list item markers. This is the peak of coding. It's no longer efficient. No no, it's in a whole new dimension. It's ART. But seriously, that syntax highlighting blew my mind.
I may or may not have worked for a fortune 500 company that used excel as its tech stack. Everything was excel sheets that called other excel sheets. And yes, version control was Control C, Control V... Then naming it 2.0, backup, old, asdjvakl... deployment involved dragging and dropping it into the correct location. :)
I remember when I was 12 years old, without internet, with only one movie in my Computer, and I started to play arround with Powerpoint and create a Menu for the movie, simillar to a DVD Menu, where it shows the extras, chapeters, a play button when you play it plays the movie, it were very fun and the reason why I started to really coding 1 year after.
If only you waited a few more days to upload this! You could've passed it as an April Fools joke AND hidden your -clinical insanity- . Best of both worlds.
What a legendary opening line! "Nowadays everyone wants to fight over what the best code IDE is: Visual Studio, Visual Code, Atom, Sublime, Notepad++, ... Pictochat, Etch-a-Sketch, ... ... The Voices in my Head..."
There’s more to this than I can truly appreciate in my stupid lil non coder brain, but the editing is on point and the vibes are good so I’m here for the interaction
Thank you for making this video. I have long argued that powerpoint is simply the best IDE due to things like its immaculate syntax highlighting and robust theme support. Next time someone hates on me for refusing to acknowledge their existence for not using powerpoint I will be sure to send them this video.
PowerPoint inarguably has the best code presentation of any IDE. I mean, you can show the whole office your code on the projector and they will all clap afterwards.
I don't even fucking like emacs, man, i just got fucking used to the cursor movement keybinds to the point they're muscle memory and even kinda trip me up when typing anything at all.
Yo that's crazy I was just thinking of Monster Mango Loco and then it popped up on screen so I immediately went and took one out of the fridge. Actually insane coincidence.
Lol, as a Neovim user, I like this video so much! It's so hilarious but also covers those important unavoidable aspects of programming: fun, exciting, frustrating, painful, and rewarding (at the end).
Enjoyed checking this out just for the entertainment value... really neat and original approach....almost bust my speaker with that unexpected f-bomb though😅

At least it's not html
It is not like that would be an issue. Recording it and uploading it to YT just so because you think this is going to be cool, is.

The video is from a ghostmane song called Mercury. The music for it was changed which was very impressive to sync
