I did it today just using canola oil and they turned out perfectly. I'm going all stainless at this point. There's nothing they can't do and there so much easier to clean than cast iron and they look and last longer than Teflon.
When I filmed this, it had been a while since I had used stainless steel, so I needed to relearn everything. It is best warmed up on medium to low heat. High heat is usually not good for it.
Weren’t you supposed to use melted butter?

You have to let a stainless steel pan get hot before putting anything in it. That helps food to keep from sticking.
