True detachment is extremely easy to understand because everyone 's here temporarily BUT at the same time it's extremely difficult to put into practice, because there are things in the past very hard to let go!!!!

It's said "who says it's easy?" That's why your're here, to learn about it. We are all students, and only become teacher after we've mastered it. And the learning continues, until you're really free. And only when you're really free, you know that you're here temporarily.

Great story! Everything is temporary: emotions, thoughts, people, and scenery. We should not become too attached; we should just flow with it. True detachment is absolute freedom within our mind to explore good living 🖖

It seems the moral of the story is symbols are not necessary? They represent something real but at the end of the day they are not it. The story established that knowledge had been transferred to the student so a symbol was not necessary just as protestant religions often criticize catholicism for idolatry.

    "The book of attachment"
The wrapper is attached to the book.
The index is attached to the consecutive page of the book.
The price is attached at the end wrapper of the book.
The words are filled to the each and every following empty pages.
At there, each and every letters are finely closer to each other.
But, they are not attached to one another.
The moment we spell the letters as group of words.
Then we understand the spaces in between each words.
Spaces in between the words makes an legible and sensible meaning for a whole passage.
Even for the whole some of the book.
Attachment never brings an cosmic relationship.
Detachment or spaces or gap makes you strong.
    Eventually more stronger.

Burning a book is one of few things that are true sins. The destruction of knowledge is so beyond all reason that I seriously have to consider any teaching that advocates for it as anything but evil. But I am a practical man, I will pick the fruits of the tree of knowledge as I please, and write for all to read.

Zen buddhism is more concerned with phenomenology than symbolism, reality over words. Tbh, I was surprised the first monk yelled, he would laugh if he was a true master and throw his sock in the flame or something random like that. Crazy mofos zen monks. I think the point of monasteries is to train them in discipline and stop them from going full crazy burning down houses after they pick it up. Books and teachers are obstacles to overcome rather than bridges to true understanding, as far as I understand it.
I think it's like a true breakout genuineness, fully self actualised.. like a prime mover but floating in the stream of creation at the same time.. ? Something, something, words.
You could put a zen master in a criminal gang and he would get caught up in it and go around shooting people, put him in a hospital and he will walk around nursing people, put him on a boat and he will help to catch the fish. Something like that.. forgive me if I'm not quite there..

I mean , keeping the book for better understanding and for new possibilities is good but attachment with it is not good .
As guru says " This book is very valuable and it's been there for seven generations " . That's where i think things got messed up .

Western people think on term of Good and Evil.
Light and Darkness or Yin and Yang are both important parts of life.
Attachment and Dettachment are both good and important, the key lies in balance those 2.
The Student was so Attach to his belief that he ended up burning his Master important book, if he didn't want the book he could just don't accept it.

      Oh my brother 😊,
The answer is hidden in your reply . Your answer remind me of the mistake that i have done in the past🙂.
What is attachment ? , What is dettachment ? , What is the nature BALANCE between the two ? Is attachment really exist in nature ?🤓🤯
The true nature of human being is only and only love❤ . What if he said no rather than throw it in the fire🔥 , the GURU would never be able to learn a new dimension of his life🤔 .
In the story , i think the student helped his guru to grow and blossom⚘🌺🌻 .
I want you to really dig into the questions that i have shown you to find the truth ?
May the answer lead you to new and beautiful journey 😊❤ .

@@geetanshrohilla6297 Yes Attachment exist in Nature, the bonds we have with people and family, the food we eat to live, even breathing.
If you think that Attachment is not good, its the same as saying that we have to only Inhale and not Exhale.
The true question you have to make is, why do You think living whitout any attachment is a new dimension in life?.
We are both Heaven and Earth.

    • @geetanshrohilla6297

      Oh my amigo 😊,
The bond we have wih family and friends is ' LOVE ' .❤
The air and food is ' NEED ' of the body .
The bond i have with my mom and dad and my brother is ' LOVE ' .
I was thinking to show you the diffrence and i start writing on the page🤓 for you but it was a little difficult to put it in the words🤔 .
I want you to question and understand three words -
      1. Attachment
      2. Attraction
      3. Love
      4. Need ( because of the example food and air )
The mistake you are doing is not knowing the right meaning and having the clear picture of the words you speak while communicating with others .
If you still not able to understand , please comment .
I will help you 👍🏻to open a new way to see the world , but before that try your best to understand the difference .

@@geetanshrohilla6297 Compadre you are using bad those terms.
You are thinking of them as separate.
Yes our bonds share love, but that doesn't mean it replace Attachment. and if you think that it means you don't know what is an Attachment.
I love to learn and study, after seeing this video i start learning more about Attachment and Dettachment and using it my own life.
There is so much i could tell you about what I learn, but i don't feel in you that you want to know as much that you want to be right.

Hello Mario de Azevedo: You have to let things from the past go. The past is gone and the future doesn’t matter , only this moment means anything . You see, it’s such thinking , thinking of the past or of the future that prevent us from living in the moment. That’s why some have trouble sleeping , some have paranoia, and all manner of troubles: From only their brains thinking of the past or the future . . Let it all go . It all means nothing anyway , so ? It is hard. But worth it . I have been trying to do this for my entire life. At times I succeed :-) ~ ~

Please understand how books and experience and history are unique and important. Even if you understand now, you will forget it later because not every knowledge is use everyday. Books are so important, he is too proud to throw the books away make him arrogant, he underestimate the books 📚 make him blinded the truth .

I disagree with the main message. Sure, pure detachment implies no possession and being ONE with all. But the way this book was explained, gave me the impression that it had nothing to with an attachment. It is a legacy, wonderful wisdom, and our ancestors' fruitful knowledge poured into pages. We cannot live without a sense of past/history, thus also a future. We cannot cut off a sense of root. True enlightenment shown in this video is impossible, impractical, and it sacrifices too much for the sake of 'enlightenment at every moment'. I'd rather be WHOLE than ENLIGHTENED.
