To me, this looks very nice, much more modern, often a problem with little space in the kitchen, a challenge. I liked what you two have done so far with the interior ..
Great changes, look good. We also changed the top wooden cabinet doors to white, but I bought a "kitchen" wrap from the UK that looks great as you have the shiny look
I found you today, you are really nice, you are simple in the way you present yourself and what you experience. Will watch the videos from the trips in Europe, learn a little from you. I want to travel and experience new places with my wife. We have bought a motorhome and want to experience the world. Fantastic videos you have made together. Must comment for every video I see from you.
Thank you Roy, very nice of you. We have always enjoyed making videos together and it has become part of the way we create our memories. ❤ It can be challenging at times to get a shot and tell a story that someone else might enjoy as well but I think we're slowly getting better at it. Catch you next time!
Another great video just started following you guys. We had a oven in our old van that we built and it was great, we used it a lot. We now have a factory build mh and do miss the oven. New upholstery you cannot beat it to make it your own space. As for Blinds they put in them you wound think they would come up with a better system they are expensive and they soon Breakdown. I have silver cut outs for all our Windows and for the roof lights that I made, I can put on them outside when it is too hot and on the inside to keep warm. We live in Portugal so are priority is to keep the heat out and we also have a dog.
Gosh this feels like a long time ago! We've made some good changes at that time but a lot is different 3 years later. You're so right about the heat, it's our biggest challenge. It's worth looking at additional ceiling insulation and perhaps uv window film.

It comes as an off the shelf kit in different sizes. Ours was from Hoa Mai but you should find it in most homeware stores. Even at Leroy Merlin (probably better quality..). And definitely available from Amazon. 😎
Hey guys, what do you do for solar and battery setups? You clearly keep all your laptops and cameras charged and are able to be off grid for quite a while. My partner and I are doing something very similar this year! What is your setup cost, solar panel size, and battery bank capacity? Cheers
Hi Lewis! We should probably do a short video on our current setup but it's so simple I often think it's not very helpful 😆 When we bought the van it had zero solar and a single 'leisure battery' which powered the water pump and lights. We decided not to invest heavily into massive system as partly it would be a sunken cost for such an old vehicle, it would take space and add weight, and we were also concerned with adding anything structural to the roof. So, we opted for a very simplistic system with 3 x 130W flexible solar panels of which one is dedicated to the 100aH leisure battery. We've converted all lights to LED and this battery runs our water pump, lights and fans. Unfortunately, it's lead-acid so we can only go about 3 days without solar but so far, we haven't had issues (although in winter the short days can be a potential problem). We might look at adding a 2nd battery or perhaps swapping to a lithium. The 2nd set of solar (260W) feeds our power bank (Ecoflow River Pro) which we use exclusively for our electronics. We also have 2 x 760aH e-bike batteries which we can use as additional storage and feed it back to the Ecoflow in emergencies. This is not mega efficient, but it works fine for us. With our current setup we can stay off grid indefinitely as long as there is a bit of sun or if we drive (as this charges the leisure battery as well). In the video going out later today (8 Jan) there's a small segment where we show the panels on the roof as wel as the very simple wiring inside.
If we could start from scratch I would do the same but get a bigger capacity powerbank with larger inverter (like the Ecoflow Delta) and kit the van with a lithium battery to improve drawdown capacity and charging rate. Oh yes, we also have 2x 60W folding solar panels to use in emergency. For example we can plug it into our car starter battery (which has it's own 20A solar controller) to keep it conditioned or we can add the portable panels to the single roof panel input for the leisure battery on days where there is less sun.
@André and Lisa thanks for the fast reply! Yeah I've looked into those Ecoflow systems, they seem quite good in terms of portability and not being complicated. I think I'll head down that route as well. Perhaps when we're over in Europe next year we will see you on our travels! Cheers, Lewis and Becky
What do you think of the changes we've made so far? We still have a LOT to do but so far we're very happy!

You guys are so sweet - just a pleasure to watch you chat (about anything really)
You're very kind ❤

Oh wow, that sounds like a good idea! The white makes everything feel a little bigger! Thanks for watching Jacques! 😊
Great job with the updates!
Thanks!❤

Grazie Cristina, anche noi siamo molto contento! Se siamo nella vicina, ci vediamo di sicuro!
Love that Magnetic mosquito net on the door! Where did you get it?

For sure! Good luck with the planning!
