My first experience with painted furniture was a little tiny shop in Poulsbo, WA. It was heaven, dressers, buffets, hutches, etc, painted in lovely blues, and whites. One of the top ten best experiences of my life. Wish i could remember the name of that shop.

Great! But am I wrong? It seems that you lightly sanded this piece of furniture before painting.
it does look lightly scuff sanded
I never sand and I have been using Annie Sloan for over 10 years, it's truly Amazing!
