Yeah, now we're making music. Thanks for taking it slow, because even though we may know it ,going over again makes it stick in the brain deeper. Thanks for sharing.
interesting points ,if anyone else needs to find out about best piano courses try PianoLessons99.blogspot.com Ive heard some interesting things about it and my work buddy got great results with it.
Jeremy -- you are a born teacher. I've known teachers with the same gift... and you have it. This is your God-given talent. Thanks for all the blues instruction.
This is just one variation, there are several progression still using the same chords. The bass line can have more notes incorporated for a fuller sound.
In a 12 bar blues progression there are 4 beats in a measure in a 4 4 voicing. Will each beat represent a chord played ,so 4 beats represent chord played 4times and should it be played on bass ? Then why he is playing c and g on bass.
I just figured this out whilst messing about on the keyboard then typed in '12 bar blues piano' on here to see if I was on the right track, perfect! Excellent video, straight to it!
Can you say what is happening with the bass line in terms of scale-degrees/chords? It toggles (for instance) between 1-5 (C-G) and 1-6 (C-A), and sounds very nice. I'd like to understand a rhyme or reason to that also. Thanks for posting.
I do not agree as you would then end up with another 4 bars of C on the next go-round, which makes it sound stale and boring, @xxducknrun is right that you want the G (or a lick) for turnaround
I would count it como; 1234 2234 3234 4234, up to 12 234. I would also try making your changes at; to f at5234, back to c at 7234, then g at 9234, down to f at 10,234 and home at 11. have her home by 'leven, ... you know ... thanks for the demo!
Guys, go into classical music. You'll never get bored of them. As a grade 6 pianist I can say that all pop and blues have the same chords, literally all the time. Experiment with your skills and music in classical. They're different, each one of them :)
Awwwww hell no. Returning to the tonic from dominant is like a dry root. Please use dominant -> subdominant -> root. Otherwise you’re just giving everyone blue balls.
Thank you. The simplest explanation ever. Thanks. I am gonna learn this one for sure.

I agree with all the comments. I never learned to read notes. I just kept practicing a song that I wanted to play. You would be a good teacher.

@@stevew8610 Good point, Steve. I should make a video for that. I'll try to do so in the near future!

Great question- pity there's no answer! I'd like to know too..... it sounds splendid but what's the reasoning behind that?
Thank you
Great job.
Merci beaucoup
thanks
Last 4 bars should be: G F C C.
I think it sounds better😎
technically in this case its G F C G, G would be used for the turnaround licks for it
Yes, I was thinking the same. Thanks.
It does sound a lot better

Is this progression the same for guitar?

Ill come back but awsome !
going to practice
You can even make the second measure an F chord instead of a C and make the 10th measure an F too. Just some variation.
Yeah, I was always taught the tenth measure is F. I personally think it sounds more interesting that way.
Why didn't I see this video 50 years ago, I could have been a star.
I started playing the piano at 73. I'm a star at my pub
yeah, why?
Im guessing a lot of people are here for music class
Yep
Yeah
Even with out this video I learned it in two minutes..
👍👍👍

Cha-Ching!!!
Did he hit a bum note on one of the Cs?
I believe he did.
Yeh, but only you and me noticed !!!
Hello there. You are doing a Great service. Would you be interested in collaborating for buying/selling and promoting music related products?
Niamh, That was also a basic Boogie Woogie bass.
I think he was joking
Shouldn’t the last line be G F C C? Sorry, still trying to figure this out.
4:50-5:21
4:51-5:21
If you have to practice... It takes way more then the 5 minutes, the headline claims!
Well that depends on your starting skill level
Jonny, just keep spending a bit of time with this, its really worth it.
Do you know the boogie woogie!!
Niamh Frew indeed. The bass pattern I played were in a basic boogie woohoo pattern, of which there are many.
... the middle C... Where's the middle C?
