Seriously, I was so surprised by the two episodes, I absolutely love where they're taking the story. It feels old and new, and the fight cinematography, mystery/noir vibe with wuxia overtones is soooo good. Can't wait to see more!
@@BoboftheOldeWays Live Act Wookiee Jedi is Indeed El Bueno Correction 🙂 Mirialan Jedi Master did a bad move by telling Master Sol to return if Kelnacca dies at Episode 3 .. I hope he survives. I'll restream both episodes via D+ in separate days before third one 🙂
There was a book series, young Jedi academy, the original children of Han and Leia, twins .... And their wookie friend. I was reading it in the late 90s, so I don't remember much.
Osha and Mae remind me so much of Vi and Jinx... mae is supposed to have killed her entire family in a fire she accidentally started... osha resents Mae for it, they've been apart for the rest of their childhoods... mae believed Osha to have died... the similarities are so clear
It seems like they spared no expense on this show. And all the details are tight. It looks great, the characters are cool. The ships, the sets the fight choreography. All top notch. I'm really impressed
And so they end up being orphans, alone, with no real family. No real understanding of who they are, what their family history is... Just forced into this group that forces you to fight... To kill and risk dying. Drafted into the military from childhood........... I've never thought about it like that until now. 🖖
From these two episodes, I infer that the Jedi are abusing their powers and that the masked Sith is just the apprentice, We won't see Master Lord of the Sith.
imo show isn't terrible, visual effects are above average, some of the dialogue and deliveries aren't great but the story is interesting. i find it weird that daggers are somehow more lethal than lightsabers, the first fight scene felt too choreographed (and was hyped for Carrie-Anne Moss, shame she died in the first 5 minutes) but the second was pretty good, it's also wild that Osha missed a near point blank shot on a stationary target with a stun blaster. some of the aliens look very bad, like green jedi and jecki, too human face paint looking, jedi robes feel too cosplayish, and Leslye Headland's hatred of strong white men was showing a little bit. Sol carries hard, great acting from Lee Jung-Jae, and mae is done well, the actress Amandla Stenberg does a good job of portraying the personalities of the twins. Yord is cool too and the show does allude to the idea that he has some secrets which makes him interesting, music was also really good and felt like star wars overall combined a 7-7.5/10. I feel like if you give it 0-5 at this point, you're hating and if you give it a 9-10 you're glazing edit - i also think they blew the "evil twin sister" load a little too early
I'm super annoyed that they dedicated a whole interaction in the first episode to set up Sol having a Jedi "truth serum" skill, for him to then not use it or remember it's even a thing in the very next episode when they were looking for the pivotal mastermind plot info from the poisoner guy. It makes me think the big reveal may be evil Sol all along, to go along with Mae being "pretend evil" because she never set the fires and thinks the Jedi are all murderers, and Osha being a fake opposition when Mae decides she's in on it, etc. Either that or it's a gigantic plot hole.
I was expecting the worst, given the director's statements and all the communication surrounding this series, but so far it's not so bad. So yes, you can feel slightly her ideology in the casting, but in and of itself, if you don't know her ideology first, you don't realize it too much. For the moment, Leslye Headland's obnoxious mindset doesn't seem to affect the content. For the time being. We're only at episode 2 after all. I remain on my guard. Unlike some other Star Wars series/movies, at least here we have endearing characters with a personality, a story that seems interesting, and above all, even the main character seems to have weaknesses and flaws. I'm so tired of seeing woke series whose only added value is the minority represented by its actors. It's nice for once to have actors who also play characters in a universe, and not just a guarantee of inclusivity. And really I started out very negative about this show, I wanted to hate it, so please believe me when I say that for once, wokism doesn't seem to completely rot the content it touches. Osha and Mae are, indeed, really cool. And the other secondary characters are nice too. Each one has its own identity, its own character. Yord's acting is a bit mediocre, but the rest is okay. Sol is a very good mentor character. Emme told about Avatar, and I feel the same. Yord seems like Soka to me, Sol like Katara, and Jeki like Toph. I mean, archetypaly. Yord is impulsive but kind of intelligent and careful. Sol is cheerful and calm, with some inner flaws. Jeki is teasing, confident, and small. Scenario-wise, I'm a bit dubious. I think Osha's wrongful accusation is a missed opportunity. This issue is resolved a little too quickly for my taste, and I think that a tense doubt about her guilt throughout the series could have been interesting, but we'll see what happens next. The idea of trying to kill Jedi without weapons for "killing their dreams" is also kind of interessting. At this time, Jedi are almighty, very influential in the galaxy, and as Yoda points out in Revenge of the Siths, very arrogant. It's a good idea to make a scenario based on the moral decline of the Jedi order towards the end of the Republic, an axis we see a little of in Clone Wars, but which is already acted out, and very much overshadowed by the fact that Palpatine is pulling the strings. Music is good too. Nothing to criticize about that. However, SFX are very bad. Jeki and the green master was awful. I saw better cosplay than those costume. Clothes looks too "clean" too, really like a bad cosplay buyed on TEMU. And the overlaying of background in certain shots really makes you puke. Spaceship are the worst. I've seen better texture in some video games. Even the Neimodian from the Trade Federation looks worse than the one in Episode 1, in 1999. It's a real shame about Jeki, because she's a nice character, and one of the main protagonists, so she would have deserved at least a good make-up. For now, I give 6.5/10, above average, but not perfect. Which is already much better than most of the Star Wars crap we've seen. Let's hope it gets better and doesn't get worse with subsequent episodes.
Watched the first two episodes of The Acolyte and it was boring as hell... I won't even mention what they did with Carrie Anne Moss character 😤 This is really why they've hired her for?
Then hopefully, you won't continue to watch, and you won't be here to inject your ridiculous hate for something you don't like. Again, you found it "boring." Yawn...then move on.
YIPPEE! Very excited for these weekly episodes!
Yeah Pip is a good boy. Pip-boy.

Emme is the first reactor I've seen to think that Mae might not know Osha is alive, before we get that information revealed. You're a pro Emme. 👍
Love how this show is introducing us to the Jedi. It's kind of how I imagined the prequels would be as a kid
I feel like a lot of people are just underselling the coolness factor of a Wookiee Jedi.
A WOOKIEE JEDI!
Well, if you had watched the Clone Wars series you would've already got a Wookie Jedi many years ago...
@@cmac3530 Fair point. I amend my statement to “LIVE ACTION Wookiee Jedi.”

Just did my reaction!
i like this series i dont care what anyone says! definitely a fun time
The story of Mae and Osha kind of reminds me of Vi and Powder/Jinx getting separated as kids in Arcane. Traveling down very different life paths
I love this so far! It’s so cool to see the Jedi at their prime too! Thx for sharing! ☀️
A visual cue of the beginning of their downfall is the brown cloaks coming into fashion.

Omg yes!!! Agree
My prediction is that other acolyte guy working with Mae is actually the big bad of the show and the masked Sith dude.
Shhhhh...you're going to blow his cover and his manipulations are so entertaining to watch.

Although he won’t be able to reveal himself will they cuz until Phantom Menace the Jedi haven’t seen a sith in a long time

Great reaction and solid bandana. Keep kickin that ass.
I’m enjoying it so far. It helps that I’m also reading High Republic era novels and I just want to learn more about the Star Wars universe.
Your instincts are always spot on. Wonderful and thoughtful reaction.
7:27 I suspect the Jedi caused the fire.
Great start. The fighting has been outstanding.
Got that hippie-cottagecore style today lmao
Excellentee and good live act Star Wars show 🙂 Restreaming S01E01 soon via D+ & second tomorrow late evening 🙂
a force using wookie is terrifying
Hola Emme, éste segundo episodio estuvo increíble y se pone cada vez mas intrigante.✌😎
didn't see before you got a tattoo of Shihiro creature on your arm 👍
thats why jedi are taken so young, so that attatchment isnt strong.
