      I actually rode on one of these in 2016. The engine fan wouldn’t stop running and the bus had no axle hum but the vt365 seemed powerful and sounded good.

    For some reason Los Angles Unified School District installed Navistar VT 365 engines in their Thomas/GMC B Series buses in their fleet.

    Sounds pretty good. Must be a Cat engine in there. I bet it would be real cool if it had a Detroit in there. 6 or 8V92. No series 50 or 60. It would sound like a truck.
    Thanks for posting.

    I've always wanted to know: why does the IC RE 200 sometimes make this great sound at 9:22 and 9:51 while you pull out but then it stops/shuts off after a short time of driving. It sort of sounds like a fan... Can you turn it on or off? Or is it caused by the engine being hot. The RE 200 I am on makes this sound on hot days... But then other busses(IC RE 200) in the district make this sound all the time. Kind of confusing.

      It's based off the cooling system. Some drivers don't say anything about the busses so they don't always get the best maintenance. i know i was on one that had a critical failure after something came lose and blew the motor. was puffing out black smoke but it was not on fire. got a new motor three months later.

      Dylan Nabarowsky not always
      I hear that sometimes the work order is not really necessary so whatever the driver nay have pointed may be a no biggie

      That is from the Horton cooling Fan. They. Upgraded to those in 1998 when the standard ones kepted making the busses overheat.

      I think its a V10

    • @rgj5832
      @rgj5832 4 года назад +2

      The VT365 is made by international navistar it was installed in ford F250-F550 2003-2007 trucks and called the 6.0 powerstroke but not built by ford, I own a F250 with one in it, great engine once the emissions equipment is removed.
